How do you discipline a child?

How do you discipline a child?  Is there a formula to follow?  Or a guideline perhaps on what to do and how to do it?  Is there a class or a seminar?  Or do you just wing it?  You see, Kailee is starting to get naughty.  She has times when she tests our limits.  She would consciously do something and then wait for our reaction. For the past two weeks we've had four (4) incidents of Kailee biting Connor.  She would play with him, make him laugh, kiss his cheeks and hug him.  Then suddenly, I hear Connor cry in pain and his cry is inconsolable.  Kailee would tell us 'Connor is crying..' with a sad face.  We then take a look at Connor to check on him, only then will we discover that she bit him.  How did we know she bit Connor?  There were deep bite marks on Connor's little fingers.  I'm sure it was painful. I then talk to Kailee, I tell her that it's not nice to bite Connor.  I then ask her 'You want mommy to bite your finger too?'  To which she will

Cooking Quest: Karaage Chicken

While in Tokyo, Karaage chicken was a staple in our meals, simply because Kailee loved them.  I was amazed on how she could finish off half an order.  I vowed to try and make it for her when we came home. While searching for a recipe online - I found that, there's a Japan Karaage Association !  I am learning to love the Japanese - I find it funny in a way that they would have an association just for Karaage Chicken!  They must truly love this dish and developed it as an art, very interesting - don't you think? It is just now, that I finally got around to make it for her.  The outcome was somewhat the same great, but look was very different! I may really need to look for potato starch (although some recipes just call for cornstarch) Karaage Chicken 1 kilos - Thigh fillets cut into small bite size pieces (I used the skinless) 2 Tbsp - Sake 2 Tbsp - Soy Sauce (I used Kikoman) 1-1/2 Tbsp - Grated Ginger 1-1/2 Tbsp - Grated Garlic 2 Tbsp - Granulated Sugar Equal p

Cooking Quest: Revisiting Iberian Chicken

I confess, I am obsessed with perfecting a recipe.  This is my third try, and wonderfully enough - I finally got it right.  I tweaked the recipe a bit and I am very happy on the outcome.  I used a whole chicken with bones intact (supermarket bought) and the flavors were just right - the right amount of saltiness and the flavor of lemongrass. Here's my tweaked recipe: Tweaked IBERIAN CHICKEN Recipe 1 pc. whole chicken (with bones intact) 2-1/2 tbsp. whole fresh peppercorn, ground 12 heads garlic, peeled and pounded (you can lessen or add depending on your taste) 1-1/2 tbsp. rock salt 10-12 pcs. Calamansi (strain to take out the seeds) 5 white stems of lemon grass 1 pc. chicken cube dissolved in 1 cup boiled water  3/4 cup extra virgin olive oil 10 pieces Baby Potatoes cut into halves (you can opt not to cut them) 1.) Mix the calamansi juice, rock salt and freshly grounded peppercorn 2)  Rub the mixture all over the chicken, make sure to rub inside the cavity!!
