Globe Telecom's SPAM & SCAM texters

I'm sure everyone has been a victim of a spam text or a scammer.  This is not just experienced by a single telecoms company - this happens in ALL of the telecoms company in the country.  There is no one telecom that is spared.  It has become a nuisance for the past few years, and no one is doing anything about it.  I'm sure there are a lot of complaints but they fell on deaf ears.  Finally, this year - Globe Telecom has stepped up and banned two companies who use their prepaid numbers in sending spam text messages.  I applaud that move but why just now, when it has been happening for more than a decade already?  I have continuously received a scam text message about a change in the roaming number - I have reported this for years, but have been ignored.  Why?

This morning, I reported a prepaid number that I received a scam text from.  I took a screen capture and tweeted it to @talk2globe and then @MariaofGlobe tweeted back and this was our conversation:

The question is - Does Globe really send a text message warning to all the spammers/scammers?  They can claim they do, but in all honesty - they can just ignore and tell us otherwise.  What I cannot fathom is why wait for three (3) complaints to disable the number?  It's obviously a scam/spam message right?  Why is there a need to wait for the complaints to surface?  Isn't it very obvious?  You already have a picture as proof that, that particular number is scamming/spamming?!  What other proof do you need?

I have time and again said that the Customer Service in this country suck big time and Globe Telecom is high in the ranks!  I have had this love-hate relationship with that telecoms company.  I have been a loyal subscriber since 1996!  And what I get is crappy service and a slim to none & insulting Loyalty Program - YET, they have the gall to receive awards in the Best In Customer Service award.  Who is this award giving body anyway?  Tell me - give me just one (1) subscriber who is all praise for Globe Telecom - just one subscriber that will tell me with a conviction that Globe is the BEST telecom provider that we have in the country.  There and only then will I believe that Globe is really the BEST in customer service.  So until then - Globe Telecom, shape up!!

I really hate you Globe Telecom!

I'm sure you'd say why don't I switch?  One simple reason - all of my contact are from the same telecom company.  Switching means that I will need to pay for every call that I make to the rival company.  It doesn't make sense at all.  So I AM STUCK.

Here's an update, I think they want me to 'feel' better but sorry - I will not.  This tweet came in this morning:

We are the customers YET, she should do the monitoring and reporting.

Sigh....

  2. Naku Didi! Three words, I FEEL YOU! All my life I have been their loyal subscriber pero dahil napagod na ako sa bad service nila (billing and weird chargers) plus the never ending spam messages na lagi ko nirereport at wala naman nangyayari, napagod na ako. Last year, I made a big switch. ngayon mas happy na ako kase aside from mas maliit na binabayaran ko ngayon ay wala pa spam messages! Kung meron man once in a blue moon. Haha.

  4. Parang pag post paid yun ang mabenta sa scam texts, I have globe and smart na prepaid wala pa akong nakuha na scam text from them. Baka totoo ang chismiss na an insider sells the numbers to marketing companies.

  5. Didi, you know what? I get SPAM calls, from GLOBE pa! GLOBE mismo, selling me all these plans, offering me loyalty ek-ek and they call once or twice a week. Yesterday, when one of them called me again, I told them off talaga. Na they have this so-called Report-A-Spam program, pero yung ginagawa nila is spam din mismo. Unsolicited call e. And yet, when I reported it via tweet, kasabay ng isa pang tweet about a scam text (yung discount na pasaload), they completely IGNORED the text about them calling and calling and only addressed the one where I attached the screen cap of the text scam. Kalokohan diba?

And what standard replies! Ay nako.

Alam mo naman sila, they will ignore their own faults and shortcomings since its a marketing ploy..

I hate those standard replies! I got messages from so many ofGlobe twitter accounts na 'How can I help you?' Pareparehas lang sagot nila eh! Nakaka-asar!! Spiel.

  6. I've reported a lot, note merely a lot but 6 to 10 Globe numbers already, and still, others keep on coming, plus, my mobile was a dual sim (both Globe) pero yung naka line lang po yung dinadatingan ng scam/spam messages. :/

Breastfeeding Mama!

"Welcome to the Milk Mama Diaries Carnival (July). For this month, we join the National Nutrition Council - Department of Health in celebrating Nutrition Month with the theme "Isulong ang Breastfeeding - Tama, Sapat at EKsklusibo!" Participants will share their experiences in promoting breastfeeding or their tips on how breastfeeding should be promoted. Please scroll down to the end of this post and check out the other carnival participants." When I got pregnant, I knew instantly that I would be breastfeeding my baby.  My mom found it odd that I decided to breastfeed - this was because I grew up formula fed.  My twin brother and I were given formula since birth, there was no attempt whatsoever to breastfeed.  In fact my mom recounted that she was given medicine to stop the milk production.  My pedia, Dr. Joy Ty-Sy said that during my mom's time (when she had us) it was the boom of formulas, that it was the trend that time.  I grew up with formula, my c

ANSON SUPERMARKET - Grocery delivery!!

Sharing is caring, so we can't keep it a secret any longer.  THIS is where we get out groceries!  Well, Anson Supermarket has been where we have been purchasing all of our kids' diapers!  From Kailee to Connor to Shobe!  Yes, yes, yes! A week into the lockdown, it just occurred to us that we can get our groceries from them - but then we thought, we didn't want to force them to do it - after all it's a different time now.  But when we asked and they said yes, it was like we won the lottery.  We sent out our list - a very VERY SPECIFIC list and voila after a day or two (we weren't in a rush) they told us to schedule a pick up.  Please remember that I am sharing this with you guys because I believe so much in the saying 'sharing is caring'.  Please be mindful of your language and respect those who will call or message you about your orders.  Also note that some items might NOT be available - so manage your expectations.   They're a full functioning

#CookingQuest: Winter Melon Soup ala Didi #EnhancedCommunity

One of the things that gets ooohs and aaaahs in a chinese restaurant is the #WinterMelonSoup.   You may ask why?  Well because with this soup, restaurants use the winter melon itself as a huge bowl to serve the soup!  It's a sight to see as you'll be amazed how they were able to pull it off.  You'll see the whole winter melon, and then suddenly they're take out the top part and when you peek in, the soup is inside together with meat bits and other veggies!  My mom has tried it at home, and I remember her being nervous that the winter melon doesn't break apart, kunde sira ang presentation! So during this #EnhancedCommunityQuarantine, I chanced upon Theo's Farm that they have winter melon, so I ordered.  When I saw it - I knew I wouldn't be able to pull off the carving and serving the winter melon.  It actually made the preparation easier.  I had to ask my mom, and she told me to steam the winter melon to soften it.  Honestly, I don't think I can w
