You Are Rogue

You're reluctantly special. In fact, you long to be normal.
You consider your powers to be a curse, and something you can't control.

Powers: absorbing other people's memories and abilities, weakening and killing people with your touch

All American Kid

Popular but not plastic. Athletic but not a jock. Smart but not a brain.

You were well rounded and well liked in high school.

An uber fun Saturday

Monday, August 28, 2006

Last Saturday, I had a blast. Yes, a BLAST! A literal blast? You may ask why and how? Well, for one I attended a baking demo in Nestle at Rockwell, hosted by the ever dee-lightful and cheery Lori Baltazar of Dessert Comes First. I met some great people, tasted lovely treats and most importantly - I was there with my good friend Jen! Here are some pictures of the event - click THIS to see the images. I am borrowing the link from Lori's DCF.

After the demo, Jenn and I walked our way to Power Plant mall, carrying with us the goodies that we've stashed - as Jen would say 'Sayang naman yung food!'. Good thing there was a package counter at the Rustan's Fresh Supermarket! After depositing the goodies - he headed out and walked the mall - waiting of course for our 'sundo' to come around. When they finally did - we headed to Crustasia for dinner. For a few minutes my Panget and Holden were contemplating and discussing on where to eat good steak, then in an instant they decided to head to Tagaytay! and so we did. We got to Tagaytay around 9:00pm - the road was kind of clear - thank god! When we got to Tagaytay - well, it was really foggy and cold!! Obviously, we picked Leslie's to have dinner - since I was still on SBD - I just ate Tortang Talong - but it was good - maybe because I was really really hungry!!

On the way home - was the best. Jenn and I sang OPM songs! Yes, remember Jamie Rivera? Odette Quesada, Sharon Cuneta, Chiqui Pineda, Dina Bonnavie, the NeoColors, Keno, Gary V, and a whole lot more! How I love OPM!! Sigh.....

Time flies fast.. really...

I'll miss you TRAPS!

Last night - Traps - one of the puppies of Jenna & Jacob - was not feeling well, he wasn't his usual self which was makulit. He was still walking around though, but kind of not his makulit self. When I noticed that - I brought him to my room to sleep - so at least I could watch him. After a while - he was throwing up - nothing actually since it was just goo and saliva. I prepared water and sugar with salt - and he drank it parin.

This morning he was nalalanta na - still he drank hydrite! Ang bait diba? He didn't even try to spit it out. He was just swallowing the water.

My mom and I decided to bring him to the office so we can take care of him and watch him closely. then things got busy - although once in a while - we'd look into how he was. He was just fine - trying to sleep and get out of the box we put him in.

Then during the noon break - I was wondering where he was and how he was. There he was - lifeless - I touched him to check if he was breathing - he wasn't - I said out loud 'Ma! Patay na ata si Traps!' Then looked at him once again - still he wasn't breathing. Then my mom courageously took Traps in her arms - went to the garage and started pumping his body at the same time saying 'Traps, wake up! Wake up, Traps!' The helpers were all shocked because just yesterday - they were playing with Traps! They found it weird that he died instantly - there was sign that he wasn't feeling well. After 15 minutes with the convincing of the helpers - my mom finally gave up on Traps. He was just there, lying on the floor lifeless - what happened?

I feel really guilty - because I was not able to check on him. My heart feels so heavy - I swear it was like my heart broke when I saw his lifeless body. Being an very emotional person who cried when happy and sad - I didn't cry - weird - but I did not. My mom had tears in her eyes, while my brother was visibly shaken. Me - I was just normal - it was as if nothing happend. Then I was told to get a chinese buring paper - have it burned outside. The helpers put Traps in a box - the driver was going to bring him to the cemetary. I couldn't help but look touch him one last time and say 'Bye Traps - I'll miss you' - I will really miss him, he was one of my favorites - ask my Panget.

When the driver left - my mom and I went to the terrace where Wytee and Zowee were at. I picked up Wytee and my mom said in fookien 'Take Care of the dogs, sayang' then tears began to flow. I hugged Wytee and said 'Sorry' countless of times. I couldn't believe that Traps is dead. I was just hugging him a while back - there was even a urine stain on of Traps my skirt! My mom was crying too! She was telling Jenna 'Wala na si Traps Jenna'

We were all heartbroken and devastated. Even my dad was shocked on what happend, he mentioned that he saw Traps yesterday and he was still jumping all over the place.

Traps - you'll surely be missed by everyone especially me. I love you Traps - rest in peace.
I don't think I'll ever get over what happend. :(

Love you Traps, always...

Cupcakes..

I am borrowing this image from All Cupcakes, All The Time

I was browsing through blogs and accidently (and fortunately) landed on the blog above. My mouth was watering - seeing all the delicious cupcakes! The fact that I'm on a diet - did not help at all! Dammit! Anyhoo, it was a good thing that I found this blog, why? Well, honestly - I think that it's a rebirth for me and my baking. As I relayed on my previous posts - I used to love baking - it was just unfortunate that I stopped. But this time, I think that it might be here to stay - longer that is! I was told by my Panget's brother that he was able to buy me a brand new Kitchen Aid Mixer - Yehaa!! I need not suffer my right arms in using the ol' reliable hand mixer from Oster.

Cupcakes - Here I come!! :)

the LOOOOOOOONG weekend

Tuesday, August 22, 2006

For the first time, the LOOOOOOOONG weekend felt like a long weekend. It started out slow for me and eventually ended slow too!:)

Friday night, I was supposed to go to the gym with my Panget, to sweat it out using the transport, but unfortunately - I got tamad and so did he, thus - we just watched TV and a movie - I already forgot which movie on TV!! Zowee (the only girl pup) was with me while watching TV - she had a slight fever.

Then came Saturday. The day my high school friends and I decided to make it go at travelling to Meycauayan, Bulacan to see and possibly purchase early Christmas Gifts because there was a garments sale of various brands. The sister of my Panget was able to purchase 3 outstanding shirt that were just Php300.00 a piece. Great buy huh?! Well, we went and tried our luck. We were supposed to leave at 8:30 in the morning but then we were late (as my Panget was expecting) but then again, there was no traffic - everything was smooth sailing. That is until we got the warehouse. Upon entering the warehouse - it looked like a day market, people falling in line to pay up, and people scrimmaging all over the place trying to look for a steal. Once I saw what I saw - I was kinda discouraged - one, it was getting hot - there was no aircon! two, there were a lot of people(thus it got me thinking - I might bump into them one day and we'd be wearing the same thing!) so I just walked around and observed people on their reactions to shopping. We were there for about an hour or so - my Panget was able to purchase some polo shirts he could wear to the office - the items he picked were okay - they were unique (and cheap!). Next, I saw my friend Lyn holding kiddie clothes! She was telling me how cute they were and that she was excited to give it to her nephew. They were really cute - for a kid.. :) We got out in time for lunch - my friends were eager to try out and eat at the Pampanga junction - where the BEST sisig is at. But my Panget discouraged them because he felt it was too hot (sabagay tanghaling tapat ba naman), and so we opted to eat in Omakase in Tomas Morato. The food there was okay (according to my friends and my Panget) I wasn't able to try the food since I am on the SBD.. :) The Omakase craze did not end here! My Panget was eager to show is folks this place thus they decided to have dinner there! :)

Sunday was a pretty slow day - well, I woke up earlier than expected because I had to call the helper at my Panget's house to tell her what to serve my Panget. After that, I played with the puupies - damn are they growing fast!! Zowee was still noticeably quite and inactive. But nevertheless, he fever has gone down. She's still not eating - I wonder why. By the time it got to 1:00pm I was getting impatient on when I would get picked up by my Panget to go to Greenhills. Then after a few minutes - my mobile rang - it was a message from my Panget - informing me that he was on his way to get me. Thanks goodness!! We then picked up his sister and on we went to Greenhills. It was a really slow day. I went to meet Jasper (an old good good friend of mine) in Starbucks - we discussed about his carpet requirements afterwhich we chatted. I still can't believe that he's already married!! :) Ah... the good life - he looks good by the way - I guess marraige suits him.. :)

Buon Giorno!
Tagaytay City

I had to wake up at 4:45am on Monday because we were going to hear Mass at the Pink Sister's Tagaytay. Fortunately, my mom woke me up because I set the alarm clock wrong! I punched in PM instead of AM! Dammit! The travel was okay, there was no traffice obviously, and we arrived on time. It was strange because we thought we were late. Then when my mom proceeded to sit on the front pew - the mass began. Was it a coincidence? I think not! The weather was soo cool! It was just the right temperature, although I was wearing a skirt - and got cold a bit - It was nice to be in that weather. The Mass was so swift! We were done in 30 minutes! Apparently, there was no homily! Should I be thankful or not? Haha.. After Mass, we went into the Parlor of the Pink Sisters - they sang Happy Birthday for my mom.. :) Last year when they sang for my mom - she almost cried! I think now, she was also trying to hold back tears. But at least she was happy and radiant! :) She deserves it! :) We left the convent rearing to get to Breakfast at Antonio's, to our dismay - my dad suggested we go somewhere else, a place with a view. Thus we ended up eating at Buon Giorno! The place was nice - the food looked delectable - but the service - well, it SUCKED big time. Our orders came in late. There's a clincher in this part. My mom was sipping her tarragon tea when she spit all that she was sipping back into the cup! I was astounded by what she did - she looked horrified - why? Well, there was a HUGE fly swimming in the tea! Good thing my mom did not gulp the fly. Thanks goodness for that!! :) As for the food - well, as my brother, dad and mom would always say - NOT BAD. But what does that really mean? I don't know!! Overall - the short Tagaytay trip was okay. I even took shots of the golf cake that was left(or rather 'sitting' there until the owner comes back) and the small signage of the restaurant.

After coming back to Manila - my Panget and I went to Greenhills - AGAIN! This time - we concentrated on walking around and about Unimart and chatting with Jenn (my new found friend who will go with me to the Baking Demo) AFter our Unimart stint - we proceeded to Starbucks - AGAIN to chill out. Dinner? Well, we had dinner at Wah Yuen in Banawe. Too bad Jenn was not able to join us. Her aunts were pestering her to join them for dinner.

So, was it also a looooooooooong weekend for you guys too?? :)

SUDOKU

Thursday, August 17, 2006

I've always been intrigued by this game. I've tried to understand on my own how the game is played. Unfortunately - NOTHING GOOD CAME OUT OF IT. I was more confused than when I started!

Then one Poker night - Andy the giant handed me a Sudoku book - he tried explaining it to me. I owe it to Andy the giant - I did understand what he was explaining - the thing was - I couldn't solve the puzzle on hand even if it was easy. - too many distractions!! The next day however - I bought myself a kid's Sudoku puzzle book. This was suggested to my by Annie, Andy the giant's wife. Good idea right? GREAT IDEA!! Start slowy and progress to the higher levels. And so I bought the puzzle book being distributed by Emerald Headway - by the way - ang mahal ah!! Hindi sha cheap!!

That night - I tried solving one puzzle. In 30 minutes - I WAS DONE!! I couldn't believe it. But what I couldn't believe more was - I SOLVED THE PUZZLE correctly!! Damn!! That's the first time it happened! Of course, out of sheer joy and exhiliration - texted my Panget - to which he offered me a warm congratulatory text message (ang babaw ko noh?!)

Just a while ago - I found this site that explained further on how to solve the puzzle. Dammit! If I just saw this before! I could have just been addicted - earlier!! Hahahaha... :)

Pussy Cat, Pussy Cat..

Wednesday, August 16, 2006

Seeing and learning who the Pussycat Dolls were - I had a stereotype of them. Bad as it may be - IT'S ONLY MY OPINION. Yes - they're an all female dance group - so what right? Well, it seems that even if they're earning more than they were before - they still don't have enough money to put 'enough' clothes on. Yes - I am merely kidding - pulling your leg - or whatever. My opinion? Well, does it matter??

Anyhoooooo, I came across the blog of Carlos Celdran - he's the animated tour guide of Manila. I hear that he gives THE best walking tour of Manila. You name it - he knows it, that's how good of a tour guide he is. He knows Manila like the back of his hand!! I've been reading his blog since I started blogging. And just a while ago - while sipping my Splenda iced tea - na-samid ako when I read his blog entry. Samid with matching smile ah..

Curious on what its about??

Read on!! :) click THIS to find out what's it all about. I assure you, men readers - YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS TO BELIEVE!! :)

Mr. Celdran - I'm kowtowing to you now.. :)
Cheers!

South Beach Diet

Monday, August 14, 2006

Since last December - I've gained a LOT of weight. Yes - I've tried to cut my rice - but the weight loss seems close to impossible. Now, I'm turning to the South Beach Diet - which my mom, my brother, and aunt were successful in their weight loss campaign last year.

Today is officially my first day. I've eaten the breakfast and will now proceed to the Lunch. I hope that I get to lose some weight. As later on, I will be TRANSPORT-ing for 30 minutes.

Here we go SBD!!

(I hope it works!!)

Dessert Comes First - Baking Demo

Saturday, August 12, 2006

Since I was young - I've been fascinated with baking. I learned to love baking from my aunt - who makes THE best apple pie ever! She's one of my biggest influence when it comes to baking. At a young age - I remember enrolling at Sylvia Reynoso-Gala's Kids Baking class one summer. Than again the summer after. When I got to the later part of my elementary years in ICA - I became hooked on baking. Come high school - I was baking for special someones (Yes, that's correct - the way to the man's heart? - LITERALLY the stomach!)

I've been baking since I don't remember when. The only time I stopped? Well, you can ask my Panget about it. Ask him the reason why I don't bake anymore! And he will smile and just smile. Hahaha... Now, where was I? Anyways, I just started to bake again when I met Jenn Tan. Well you see, Jenn and I just met about a month or two ago. She's a friend of my Panget and surprisingly - a friend of my friend Oliver. The first time we met, we hit it off instantly - maybe because we were both madaldal.. :) A few weeks later, I learned that she is also fondof baking, thus - my used-to-be hobby 'baking' was kind of fascinating to me again.

Then while surfing and reading blogs (which I just found time now..) I came across the most recent entry of the foodie's blog that I frequent. Ever heard of Dessert Comes First ? Click on and see what I'm talking about. Although I'm not a foodie - I appreciate people who write about food! How I wish I could do the same! (I am very much biased of course!) Lo and Behold - she just announced that she will be having a Baking Demo!! With SHEER DELIGHT and ENTHUSIASM - I texted Jenn about it. To which she replied that she has read the entry - to which I replied back that I wanted to attend the demo, I asked her if she was game. Her answer?? SHE WAS GAME TOO!! Great!! That's like 2 weeks from now and, we're both excited as hell! :) We were like two kids who got their first taste of lollipop (or ice cream)!

I promised to bring my BlueBerry Cheesecake (the controversial cheesecake)

TRANSPORT-ing

Thursday, August 10, 2006

Believe it or not - I'm excersizing. It started Monday last week, I was with my Panget and his brother - I did cardio on the TRANSPORT for 20 minutes! The next day - I did it again, and again just last Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. I can't wait to hit the gym again today or tomorrow! Can you believe it? I can't!! Imagine - that's 30minutes of just doing the transport. The secret to staying on that long for an uber lazy-to-move person like me? I pray the rosary while doing cardio. Yes, I'm hitting two birds with one stone! Getting fit physically while getting fit spiritually! My Panget has noticed that I'm the one whi takes the initiative and tells him to hit the gym! Well, I guess since I'm just starting out the 'tamad' phase hasn't kicked off yet. YET!! Maybe in a few weeks - let's see!! If I could just go at it everyday - I WOULD!!!!

This rosary praying while on the Trasport started when kids of my Panget's neighbors were getting nosy and noisy - they kept on giggling and trying to exercise (they're 5-6yo). So to keep my mind off them - I turned to praying. What's ironic about it is that - the kids are Muslim. Weird huh?!

Wish me luck!! I need all the encouragement! My goal is that when my Panget's brother comes back home - I should have at least lost some weight!! Dammit!! :)

SUKOB

I just saw this movie with my Panget and his friends last night. And indeed, I was impressed. Why? For starters - there was the 'gulat' factor, the story was ok and the acting? Well, let's just say - I wasn't bored and discouraged to watch the movie with the fact that Kris Aquino was in it.

I just have one question. IS THIS REALLY TRUE? Is there really such as thing as this superstition?

Well, overall - I liked the movie. It's not the best I've seen, but I got my money's worth.

Warning: Spoilers!!
One thing I couldn't understand though - why was Ronaldo Valdez visited by the ghost of his wife and his 'kabit'? What happened to him? And... WHAT'S THE CONNECTION BETWEEN THE HOUSE THEY WERE LIVING IN AND THE HOUSE IN NEW MANILA??????

CPK - On short notice

Thursday, August 03, 2006

Last night, for the first time in a looooooooong while. EVERYONE WAS PRESENT at CPK. Amazing? Well, for us yes because it was ON SHORT NOTICE! We always complain that it so hard to round up everyone to have dinner - but well, last night proved it otherwise!

Kim sent an SMS inviting everyone for dinner. She was meeting Chris because she was getting from him a TREO phone. And so she thought that since they were meeting up, might as well invite everyone! Good idea? GREAT IDEA!! No one backed out last minute and everyone was there - ON TIME!!!:)

Kim, Kym, Sel, and Chris - WE SHOULD DO THIS MORE OFTEN!!!!!!
I super enjoyed chatting with you guys - makes me miss you even more and crave for sudden dinners!! :)
