San Diego Comic Con 2015

This will be my forever wish until the day I die.  I want to go to a San Diego Comic Con once (or twice) before I die.  But it will remain - an impossible dream. A few weeks ago, I woke up and saw a family friend post something on Instagram.  It literally woke me up because he was freaking in San Diego for Comic Con 2015!  WOW!  I was so excited and so happy for him that when I got the office, I immediately told my mom - who was so clueless!  I couldn't stop raving about it.  I went as far as chatting him up on Facebook.  I was thrilled for him - it was so surreal - OMG, I still can't believe it!  Waaaaaah!  He's so very lucky!!! This SDCC craze is quite new to me.  Well, it was my Panget who introduced me to it.  I remember just learning about it about 10 years ago.  Since social media wan't as big as it is now - I wasn't aware of the event as much as I am aware of it in the recent years.  Then, we would just rea...

The Last Ship

Oh my gulay, normally I don't want these kinds of shows.  I am not fond of watching military drama because I feel it's too painful to watch.  These soldiers sacrifice a LOT and to be shown in that light?  My heart bleeds for them but I know that they're honored in that way. But a few years ago, I remember watching The Last Resort and liking it.  I was so sad to see it get cancelled.  I really loved the lead - Scott Speedman or *Ben* as I always call him (because he was from Felicity - JJ Abram's show) - the show had perfect pace and it was really entertaining.  I honestly loved it.  But then it got cancelled.  Boo.  Since my Panget knew I enjoyed Last Resort, he then tells me that there's a new show that I might like and it's called The Last Ship - the theme was similar to Last Resort - but I didn't care, so I saw the Pilot and I was glued.  McSteamy was the lead and he looked very different - he didn't seem like a douche (like...

Hooked on The Strain

OH. MY. GOSH I just discovered a new TV series and I am so very much loooooooving it! It's called The Strain. How did I get to watch it?  Well, it was in our HD.  I was bored and I wanted to watch a new show.  I was browsing the folders and the I decided to just re-watch White Collar (because I so love Neal Caffrey) when I saw a new title - The Strain.  I got very curious and decided to watch an episode.  And the rest they say is history.  I saw all five (5) episodes in one night. That is how much I enjoyed the show.  I was so impressed and hooked on the pilot.  I don't think there's a show (this year) that got me hooked on the pilot alone.  I couldn't explain it - but I was HOOKED.  I was looking forward to every scene, I was giddy and concentrated at the same time.  I was so excited - really really excited and I wanted to know what happened next. When my Panget got home - I gushed about the show.  I told him tha...

NBC: The Sing Off

Okay, I can't hide my excitement on this show I just discovered last week! Its - The Sing Off Apparently, I'm a late bloomer as it has been around for a long time now. NBC just picked it up again! I am sooooo glad though, that I started watching - Thanks to Mindy!! :) Here is why I am loving this show so much! Watch their performance. Note that - those are ALL vocals. There are NO musical instrument backing them up. All VOICES!! :) Hope you enjoy this!!

The FilHarmonic of The Sing Off

I'm a sucker for singing shows, movies - name it.  Anything that involves singing - I like!  I used to love American Idol (but when they lost Simon Cowell, well - it wasn't the same for me), I also used to like Glee - but kinda lost the urge to watch it.  I'm a huge huge fan of the High School Musical series and oh, my FAVORITE - The Sound of Music! So on my feed the other day, I saw that my TV guru Mindy was talking about this show called The Sing Off.  How she was glad that it was back on after being cancelled a few years ago.  But what caught my attention was the mention that there was a Pinoy group in the competition.  We all know that Pinoys are one of the BEST singers in the world and so I was curious.  Thank goodness for Dropbox - because it automatically downloaded on my mac and so last night - I finally knew what the fuss was all about. I watched the show without any background on it - I just wanted to see what it was all about.  The...

Orphan Black

My Panget and I are obsessed with foreign TV shows.  I say foreign because its not only American shows that we watch, we also watch Canadian and British shows.  I like certain genres and he has his own preferences - but somehow - being married to him, well - his preferences have rubbed off on me.  One of the influences that I got from his is the Sci-Fi and Fantasy genre.  I'm now a fan of Firefly, the whole Stargate series, Continuum, Strike Back and some other else. So every year - he has these certain shows that he downloads.  He tells me to check them out, and when I do - I get hooked! Our most recent discovery is Orphan Black. Photo credited to Fangirl.com I have to admit, I saw the pilot and right there and then I knew that he would like it.  And two weeks ago, we finally started watching it and YES, it was great.  My Panget has been declaring that the lead actress should win an Emmy for her performance because she's playing multiple ro...

Favorite moments on Breaking Bad's Felina

**SPOILER ALERT!** For those who haven't seen the FELINA yet - please stop right here!! I'm a Huge fan of the show.  I have to admit, I just started watching two months ago, and true enough - I finished the first three (3) seasons in two days.  Seasons 4 and 5 - well it took me a month (since the last 8 episodes of Season 5 only came out August 11) So there. I faced my fear and FINALLY decided to watch Breaking Bad's series finale.  I loved it.  I loved it so much that I had to watch it TWICE!  I laughed, cried, laughed again and cried some more.  The finale was THE PERFECT ENDING to the show.  The brilliance and the passion were all present all throughout the finale.  The pacing was so wonderfully in sync with the whole episode - it set the tone of redemption for me.  Start strong - and end even stronger. So, here are my favorite things on the finale: 1)  Walter White banged his hand on the windshield This made me laugh so ...

The Cape

Last night, my Panget told me that we're watching a new show on his Popcorn Hour.  I was skeptical, and asked him what rating it had on IMDB (as he bases some of his TV downloads from the ratings there).  He said that he didn't check the ratings - what he checked was those in the cast, and since Summer Glau was one of them - he immediately downloaded it.  Tsk.. Tsk.. I found the show really entertaining, I don't know - but I think it's the geek inside me (thanks to my Panget!) that liked the show.  I enjoyed watching the first two episodes, I thought it had promise!  But my Panget said this show won't get passed 6 episodes.  Hahaha!!  I'm hoping he's wrong. The lead star looks soooo familiar, I know I've seen him somewhere, but I just can't pinpoint which show!  His son however - was Dylan in Flash Forward.  Hahahaha!! :)

Weekend TV Watching..

I have been watching TV a lot since last Friday. Harry Potter Marathon I don't know why, but somehow - my Panget and I saw the first three installments of Harry Potter.  And I must say - they're nice!  I never expected to like watching Harry Potter!  We actually saw two installments in one go!  Hahaha..  Can you believe it? Found it quite cute that we saw the kids grow up!  The first two episodes they looked like kiddoes, but come the third installment, gwapo na si Harry!  Hahaha.. Burn Notice My Panget has been raving about the show Burn Notice - and honestly, I didn't like it at first, but it somehow grew on me.  Now, I'm liking the show!  We're currently on the third season - and there are a lot more episodes to go!! Yipeeeee!! Curb Your Enthusiasm Last Saturday afternoon before going to the doctor, I caught an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm on HBO.  My friend's husband has been telling me to watch the show - he said...

Raising Hope

Mindy told me about this show - I've been wanting to watch it but as you know, I do not know how to download!  Hahaha!  I rely on my Panget or my twin to do it for me.  And so yesterday, my twin told me that he has 10 episodes of Raising Hope. Last night - I saw 4 episodes and I found the show really quirky and funny.  Princess Beyonce/Hope is really really cute and I like the 'innocence/naive-ness/dumbness' of the characters!  Its just so funny to watch.. My favorite part was when Virginia and Burt were singing to Hope (Danny's Song by Kenny Loggins)  This scene made me teary eyed (prengnancy hormones!) Looking forward to more episodes of laughter!!

Modern Family

I just received my prize last Saturday from Mindy - and when I got home, I immediately watched the last 11 episodes!  I love the humor of the show - I appreciate each and every one of the characters!  Sofia Vergara is hot and soooooo funny!!  Mindy was nice enough to share episodes of the current season - and last night, I saw the halloween episode.  I have to say, I was laughing so hard at this certain part of the show. It was about Gloria's accent. I couldn't stop laughing. Baby Cheeses  (Imagine this being said by Gloria) Look at what Jay has on his hands.. It was hilarious.  Ask my Panget how hard I was laughing.

The Walking Dead

Just like Mindy - I am scared SHIT of Zombies. My Panget has this fascination of the living dead.  He has sooooo many zombie movies on our Popcorn Hour.  Same question as Mindy - What's with men and Zombies? Anyhoo, I've been seeing glimpses of The Walking Dead on Fox.  I thought it was an old show - apparently, it's a new one!  And just before dinner, my Panget told me with a huge smile on his face 'I've downloaded The Walking Dead'.  This is what I have been dreading to hear.  Shit. And so... we watched. Man, was I covering my eyes most of the time.  Hahaha!!! But seriously, the show has promise.. I can't believe I just said that. Hahahaha!!

The EVENT

I've only heard of this show from my Brother and Panget. They've been saying that it should be a big hit.  And everybody is curious on what the show is going to be about. Last night, my Panget brought home the two episodes he's downloaded. We watched. I was bored. And confused. And I became dizzy with the flashbacks. The show for me is a cross of The X-Files and LOST.  I don't want to say anything yet, but hey - I'll give this show three more episodes and from there, we'll see how it goes for me.

Dancing with the Stars

When I was little, my mom told me that I used to sing and dance in pre-school. I believed her because she has pictures to prove that I did! And so as I grew up, I thought that I had a singing voice, unfortunately – I didn’t practice it. American Idol was one of my favorite shows, that was when Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell were still in it. When Paula left and was replaced by Ellen, the show was not as good for me anymore. I wasn’t as excited to watch it unlike before. For quite a while now – years actually, my Panget has been telling me that he’s been intrigued with Dancing with the Stars. To be quite honest, I was laughing inside – I mean, my Panget? Interested to watch Dancing with the Stars? Really now? I’ve been waiting for him to start downloading, but it never happened. So I just dismissed it as some sort of a curiosity that went away from time to time. But Last week was different, he FINALLY downloaded the season premiere! I was shocked and excited – shocked bec...

Hawaii Five-O 2010

I actually never knew what the show was all about.  I've been reading that the 2010 version is quite good, plus having Alex O'Loughlin play the lead - made me even more curious.  Last night, my Panget brought home two episodes of Hawaii Five-O.  I was too curious to wait for him (so we can watch it together) - and so I let the temptation set it and watched the first two episodes by myself! Alex O'Loughlin is gorgoeous as he can ever be!  I like his look now - cleaner as compared to what he looked like in the defunct show Moonlight (but I loved him in Moonlight!).  I was laughing when I saw Daniel Dae Kim in the show - it seems like he never left Hawaii (Lost was filmed in Hawaii).  As for Steve Caan - I must say, I was waiting to see him on TV for a while, I soooo love his humor and I think he's a good actor.  Grace Park is sort of familiar because I see her whenever I channel surf to the SyFy channel particularly in Battlestar Gallactica. The fir...

My 25 TV shows of all..

Got inspired byMindy's tag in Facebook!  So, in no particular order - here goes my list! FRIENDS - Never fails to entertain me, I can watch it over and over again LOST - Ahhh.. AMERICAN IDOL Season 4 & 5 - I will forever wish that I knew how to sing! ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT - I love the quirky-ness of the show! THE OC - YES, I am a fan, I soooo love Seth Cohen & Josh Schwartz, the soundtrack is amazing! The Original BEVERLY HILLS 90210 - This has to be the monumental show that got me hooked on American television.  I remember watching this every Friday on Abs-Cbn THAT'S ENTERTAINMENT - I used to go gaga over Romnick Sarmienta! STARGATE ATLANTIS - the FIRST ever Sci-Fi channel show that my Panget got me hooked! SEINFELD - Just one word/person - Kramer ALIAS - the monumental show that made me LIKE Jen...

White Collar

I have a new TV show that I am obsessing about!! I saw a glimpse of it on Fox channel on cable. I was wondering what it was all about but when I saw Bryce Larkin aka Neal Caffrey - I had to watch it till the end.  Too bad though that I had to go out for lunch. But I was really obsessing about the show, even asking Mindy of Too Much TV what it was all about.  The show is like a TV adaptation of Catch me if you can, but this time - the lead is a bonafide 'consultant' at the start, so no chasing scenes!! I asked my Panget to bring me Metrowalk because I really wanted to watch the TV series.  He then promised me that he would copy from his friend's HD.  And last night, I got my dose!! The pilot episode was fantastic!  I enjoyed the whole show from start to finish, it was such a great Pilot, I mean I was impressed every second!! :) The succeeding episodes were okay, they're not the best but they were okay.  The hype and energy from the first episo...

Team Carnival's My FAVORITE FRIENDS episodes..

I thought this topic would be easy but it isn't! I mean to pick just 5 episodes out of the 10 seasons? Hmmm.... So how about this - my favorite episodes in random order. 1)  The One with the Emryos This has got to be one of my favorites.  I loved the competition between the girls and the guys, what I loved more were the questions formulated by Ross!  You know, watching this episode over and over again - makes me wonder, since there were questions in all catergories that were not picked - what questions were they??!! My favorite question was 'What is Chandler Bing's job?'  Hahahaha!! 2) The One with the Proposal I never thought that Chandler would ever want to get married, and so this is one of my favorites because it made me cry!  Monica proposed to Chandler! This episode made me cry and laugh at the same time. 3)  The One that could have been What really could have been?  I immensely enjoyed this episode because it shows that ...
