Steak! I'm glad that my Panget likes to eat and whenever we travel, we indulge once in a while.  This is another restaurant that my friend Kath recommended.  It was a busy Sunday - there were a lot of people walking in Le Marais, it was crowded but a nice crowd.  We were enjoying strolling through the streets when we happen to see people checking out the menu of a restaurant.  As Pinoys, we were curious and so my Panget told me to check it out.  And I did, I was surprised to see that it was the steak place Kath was telling me about - Robert et Louise. We decided to go to another place since it was full, but vowed to come back since it was nearby.  I think it was the next day that we went back.  Hahaha!!  We were very excited.  I remember reading some reviews that restaurants in Paris would refused entry to patrons with kids in tow, yikes!  So before we entered, I had to ask - and they were nice enough to welcome us and even help ...

Montmarte is a very charming place in Paris.  It's quite a distance from where we were staying but we were told it's a must to see the area.  I had no clue what was in Montmarte - well, except for the Moulin Rouge and being a huuuuge fan of the movie, I wanted to see the real thing.  And we did.  But that entails another post.  Hahaha!!  But before we walked to the Moulin Rouge, we had lunch first. We had lunch in a small pizza place.  I was craving for pizza and we just so happened to pass by one.  My Panget searched on Yelp and saw that it had good reviews.  I didn't get to take pictures of the facade anymore because we were really hungry. The pizzas that they made were rectangular instead of a round one.  Plus, they sold it by weight.  It meant that I can have the pizza cut to as big as I want it to be or as small if I just wanted to take a bit and taste it - and they will just weigh it. French food they say is the very good.  I honestly don't remember being blown away when I ate steak in Lille, but I was young then - but it was very good!  I was told by my friend Cubie to make sure to have an authentic French meal.  She reminded me of this during the trip. On our first night in Paris, we decided to look for the restaurant that was recommended by our Airbnb host.  The restaurant is called Le Beaumarchais - it's french bistro that serves quality food (according to our host Delphine) the ingredients are fresh, the staff is friendly and the price is not so expensive.  Plus - it's just a few minutes walk from our place.  We decided to give it a try and walked to the bistro. When we got there, the place was starting to get full.  We were greeted by a staff - I was surprised that he was nice and accommodating.  We then told him that we were the guests of Delphine - his face lit up immediately and showed us to a quiet corner. ...

Two years ago, I learned of the convenience of having a mobile/pocket wifi whenever I travel.  In Japan, where roaming fees are exorbitantly high - I was told to rent a mobile/pocket wifi through an online company.  I was at first hesitant, but then the need to be connected outweighed the hesitance and so I did.  And it was such a good decision.   I was connected we all were connected, my Panget, his brother and my sister in law + all their devices.  This way - I didn't need to pay for roaming fees.  All I did was turn my smartphone in airplane mode and turn on the wi-fi, voila - I was connected 24/7.  It was so convenient that I did it again when I visited Osaka last year.
