When you've lived in a certain city for a long time.  Looking for a place to eat is hard - why?  Well, for one, you feel like an expert and tell yourself that you've eaten in most of the places you know.  What you don't know is that - there are new restaurants sprouting in the area.  I admit, I've become complacent on the restaurants in the area - I know my favorites, but what I don't know are the new ones.  Take for example - Terrace45!  I learned of this new place from my friend who lives in Makati!   Ang layo diba? One Friday last December, I had a dinner date with Michy of (i am) www.dekaphobe.com .  She invited me to try out Oriental Palace in Tomas Morato.  We had an evening filled with great good, endless stories and so much laughter.  I didn't want it to end, to be honest - I enjoyed the food and the wonderful conversation with Michy, Tadene and Cherie. Oriental Palace is where City Best used to be.  It has three entrances - one along Tomas Morato, one along Scout Gandia and one along Scout De Guia.  I am more familiar with the entrance in Scout Gandia.  From what I remember, the restaurant is HUGE. I mean really huge.  I was glad that when I entered - Oriental Palace has changed a few things.  Everything now is well lit, plus I like it that they set up the place to accommodate multiple functions at the same time.  They've built movable ceiling to floor walls to separate each function privately.  (I wasn't able to take pictures but I wil...

I first learned about Livestock through blogger friends.  It was perfect for us, because the location is really nearby.  At last, I have a new restaurant in my list! Fast forwards weeks later.  My MIL (Mother In Law) was telling me of this new restaurant of that my FIL (Father In Law's) friend, Uncle Gab that recently opened.  She mentioned that it was near ABS-CBN, I immediately volunteered - Livestock?  And she said yes.  She then began to tell me that this restaurant was put up by Uncle Gab's son and that it was called Livestock because they owned a piggery, the biggest one in Bulacan. We are victims of the flood. Our house, office and factory were flooded with thigh deep water during Ondoy. The day after the typhoon - my family, our helpers and workers cleaned out everything that was damaged. It was only a few days ago, that we fully cleared out the flood damage. All that were flooded and unusable - we put in sacks and brought them out for the garbage trucks to pick up. We waited. Garbage trucks passed by - but only got the small sacks. Telling us that the sacks are too heavy to carry. We then divided the sacks - into smaller sacks, even offering to help carry the sacks to the garbage trucks. But we were ignored and even told that the sacks were still heavy. A basurero even snickered saying ' Wala kasi kayong panigarilyo ' Why in the effing hell are we supposed to give ' panigarilyo ' to them when in fact it is their job to pick up garbage? Are we required to give them 'panigarilyo' just for them to do their jobs?? Is that even right?? W...
