Love and Respect

I learned something new last night. Women/Wives need LOVE to give respect. Men/Husbands need RESPECT to give love. These are two simple sentences but the impact is huge.  I never thought of it that way.  But then listening to the video of a certain doctor pastor, well - it hit close to home.  And I agree, as a woman/wife - I need LOVE to give respect.  Whenever I don't feel loved or appreciated, I respond or react in a way that I disrespect.  It makes sense when you think about it.  Men, when they don't feel respected are unable to show the feeling of love to their spouses. I am thankful that I have a friend who made sure that I attended her D-group session.  To be honest, I wanted to go, but half of me was feeling otherwise.  Maybe because I don't have a partner with me to share the insights?  But then, I still chose to go.  I drove myself to my friend's house - and I think that simple act (of driving) made me realize that I real...

The Flash: Grant Gustin & Barry Allen

I haven't had this bad of a crush since seeing Matt Bomer/Neal Caffrey on TV while I was pregnant with Kailee.  I was obsessed with seeing Neal Caffrey on TV - I would watch over and over again the Pilot of White Collar and I would have this silly grin on my face while I saw it.  Ask my Panget he can attest to that! Before Neal Caffrey - I was crushing Seth Cohen from the OC.  I'm sure you'd ask why - well, he's cute and awkward and geeky.  Hahaha!  I don't know, I can't explain it - but he was sort of my perfect guy on TV.  My next TV crush was Chuck Bartowski - again, geeky and awkward and FUNNY!  But then their shows were and I had nothing to look forward to.  And so when I saw Matt Bomer (I remembered him as Bryce Larkin from Chuck) it was TV love at first sight. I first saw Grant Gustin/Barry Allen in an episode of Arrow.  I knew from the moment he spoke, that I was going to like him (and his character).  He had this funny...

Happy Birthday Connor!!

Yesterday we celebrated Connor's 2nd birthday. Happy Happy Birthday my little boy! It seems only yesterday that I gave birth to you , time flies so fast.  You have given me so much joy.  Thank you for your smile, your smirks and kisses. You will always be my baby boy, Connor!! I love you very very very much!  (Even if Dada is your favorite!  Hahaha!!) Love, Mama This is Connor while listening to the Foo Fighter's Learn to Fly (sad that there is no audio :( ).  He likes music, whenever he hears it - he immediately dances or moves his head to the beat of the song. Love you!  Love you!!

Depression is REAL

I remember when I was younger, I assumed that when one was depressed - it simply meant that, that person was sad.  As I grew older, I realized that it was something more than being sad. I learned that being depressed meant something more.  It didn't just mean that one was really sad, crying all the time, enveloped in problems - these are merely the outer layer that people see.  What they don't see and realize is that it goes deep within a person.  I'm sure you're asking - why?  Why am I writing about this?  Well, because it hit a nerve.  I cannot explain it but I understand to some level why a person would think of suicide.  I've had thoughts about it a couple of times in my lifetime.  For sure you will label me as weak but I tell you - inner turmoil is different.  Thoughts are ripping you apart!  It may seem superficial to you, but I swear - its real and it is happening. I ask you NOT TO JUDGE people who are depressed.  Do...

My Kailee

Here's a glimpse of what makes me smile every single day Meet my darling Kailee...

Mommy, I LOVE YOU! Happy Birthday!!

My mom's birthday is this Sunday. And I want to make a tribute to her in my blog.  Photo borrowed from THIS site Do you know that when I was younger, I didn't like her as much?  This is because I knew she favored my twin brother more than me.  She used to make me work in the office on summer vacations, but let my twin brother go to my grandma's to play with our cousins.  I think I resented this for a while. But as I grew older, I learned to appreciate those things.  Those missed summer vacation, trained me to who I am now, a hardworker.  I learned simple business ethics early on, answering phone calls from clients, filing things, counting money, computing for the payroll.  These things, I don't think I can learn outside.  So you see, at a very young age - I was trained by my mom to do most anything. It was from her that I learned and breath courage and confidence.  I learned that the meaning of 'lakas ng loob', it was also from her ...
