Thank you, Globe Telecom!!

I just received a special letter (sent over by LBC) over the weekend. When I opened it and read it, I thought it was a bogus letter! Another one of those misleading letters! So - the 'complainant' in me decided to give DTI a call to inquire and report on the fraudulent-ness of the letter.

I first called Globe Telecom to inquire - and as expected, I was told that the letter and the promo was indeed fraudulent.

I then called DTI and was told by the operator, that the DTI Permit number was not found. This made me more curious! I was then passed to the Promos department, my call was answered by a certain Rose , without asking the nature of the letter - she immediately told me 'Basta kapag may letter, VALID na po yan' How the hell did she know?! She didn't even ask me for the DTI Permit number! So I insisted - amazingly - it was VALID! She then sounded eager to put the phone down - but I still questions. She was really reluctant to answer them. Luckily - I got her name! She told me a few details like the promo was from a Globe prepaid promo and adviced me to call the number on the letter.

I finally got to talk to Bianca (the undersigned) and she informed me that INDEED, I won a Nokia 2630!! :) Cool right? It gets better! Since I am one of the winners - I have an option to win myself 100 units of Nokia 2630 - but the raffle will be done using a tambiolo with 10,000 balls - out of the 10,000 balls, there is only ONE ball that says that I've won 100 units of Nokia 2630. The other was called a consolation prize, meaning - I won't need to pick a ball from the tambiolo - by waiving the right to join the 'tambiolo' contest, they will be giving me another Nokia 2630 phone! So all in all, I will be bagging 2 units of Nokia 2630!! Yehaaaaaa!!!

My choice was easy - it was getting the 2 phones immediately! I mean, my chances are very slim (even if I'm lucky) with the '10,000-balls' pick the winning ball thingie right?! Bianca said that she will call me back to inform me when to pick-up the prizes! :) Yehaaaaaaa!! :)

So there...

Thanks Globe Telecom! For picking my entry! :)

Rollercoaster week..

Monday, January 19, 2009

The week started out kinda rough- I had a feeling that things will be a little shaky, but I was very optimistic. For the first time ever, I broke down (like never before) I cried buckets (and buckets), I was able to let out my frustrations, anger and sama ng loob. I don't think I've ever broken down like this - I mean, I'm a cry-baby, my tears are so mababaw - but last week - they couldn't stop from falling! Yikes!

I felt so bad and confused - I considered giving up. I thought to myself that I did not deserve to be treated that way, but then again - who was I to say that right? I always remember the saying 'What doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger' As brutal as it is - I feel that its the most truthful saying, ever! I thought that things would be smooth sailing, I felt initial bumps right after last year's 'big' event - but as the days and months passed, the bumps became deeper and potholes were everywhere. Some trivial, some well - crying session worthy.

In the end, there are still hurt feelings - I feel better though, since I was able to cry it all out. But still, there's something. I don't know why.

I was able to meet with two new designers. Designer2 was well, pretty popular - but there was no 'click' I was actually irritated because when I called to make an appointment, I made sure that he was free - it turns out, 30 minutes after our appointment - he was meeting another client. Great right? When we sat down, he didn't even ask me what kind of gown I wanted - he just started drawing. For fear that he will sketch an out of this world dress, I immediately declared that I didn't want anything flashy - the simplier the better. When he heard that, his face fell - it fell so much to make me notice it fall! I quickly sent a text message to my friend KI that I kinda did not 'feel' him, but KI told me to give him a chance. And I did. After browsing through 2-3 wedding magazines and non-stop talking for about 5-10 minutes, he was able to show me a sketch. The front was just so-so, but the back was amazing! It was beautiful! But there's a catch - the dress is not easy to move around with. Points down.. After showing me my sketch, he made KI one - I loved the sketch, the look was so modern and I'm sure KI will be fabulous in the dress! His quote was very reasonable, his assisstant even said that the price is still negotiable. The next day, I got a really odd message from Designer2's staff - it said that he was able to sketch some more dresses for my entourage! Hmmm... Makes me wonder why?!

Last Saturday was so much fun! For the first time in my entire life - I was able to take out the car for more than 12 hours! Yehaaaa!! KI was super nice to accompany me to meet with Desinger1B and Designer3. KI and I both liked Designer1A - he was so bubblu and fun! I can't explain why, but I felt really comfy with him AND the best part - he was the only ONE who got and understood what kind of dress I wanted. He is so animated - and I knew (after the first meeting) that it was him that I wanted to make my dress - the only problem was - the price. Great right? Well, let's see. I am crossing my fingers, making double cross legs and even crossing all my fingers - wishing and hoping that luck will be on my side. I really want Designer1B!! Waaaaaaaaaaah!! :)

Designer3 was such a fun person to talk to - he was very warm and friendly. The only problem was (like) Designer2 - he was famous for heavy beading and flashy gowns. To be very frank - it's so NOT me. I don't like beads - I don't want to be sun shiny on my special day! He was nice enough to sketch while we were swapping stories. His package is the most affordable of all the desginers I met, great right?! Well, yeah- sure, I mean if I'm the type who likes to have so much 'bling' on my dress! But in fairness, he is such a sweetheart, I don't mind getting him. Hahaha!! :)

KI was the one who suggested that we go on a 'spa' treat. To relieve stress and tension. She told me that one of our Bikram Yoga instructors recommended Spa 6750. When I heard it, I automatically assumed that the massages and spa treatments were going to be pricey. KI said that there was an on-going promo of 30% discount for all treatments before 7:30pm. Despite that being said - a Php1,000.00+ massage is still too expensive for me. But what the hell, I needed to de-stress. We both decided to get the Nordic Express massage. Let me just say - during the 1st few minutes - I was getting skeptical. But when I told myself to enjoy the massage - I freaking did! It was the best Php 1,200.00+ I've ever spent for a maasge! It felt so wonderful! Though the strokes were not as 'hard' the massage felt sooooooo great!! I loved it!! I am definitely trying it again!! Thanks KI and Cristina for the recommendation! It surely was the highlight of my Saturday. Yey!! :)

You see, last week - emotions were both high and low, tears flowed, good and harsh words were said. Such a rollercoaster of emotions for me. I hope that this will be the first and only 'rollercoaster week' I will be having. I am not prepared! Hahaha....

And I'm back!! :)

I love watching this show! Every year - it just keeps on getting more and more entertaining!! :) I think one of the things that I like about this show is the surge of emotions!! I am such a sucker for those sad (and happy!) stories that I cry instantly when I they get the yellow ticket! I can't explain it, but it's so crazy! It seems like I am overwhelmed with emotions - crazy noh?! Hahaha!! :)

Looking back at 2008...

Thursday, January 01, 2009

I know I have been neglecting this blog. I've been very busy, December 2008 flashed by (yes, flashed) so quickly! How do I know it flashed by quickly? Here's how:

1) During the last week of every month - I am sure to scout for next month's copy of OK! Philippines. Last December, well - it totally slipped my mind! It was only when Fran asked me if I had a copy, did I remember! I never missed a copy - ever!! (Promise!) 2) I've only been to Starbucks, TWICE ! Can you believe it? My gosh.... 3) I haven't been to Trinoma in 3 weeks! I'm usually there once or twice a week! 4) I totally forgot to ask for MMFF passes!! Yes, I am a Tagalog movie freak - and it's such a delight for me to watch entries for the MMFF every December! From paying Php5.00/movie, I am now paying Php160.00/movie! Ouchie!! 5) I forget days and dates! Like when I had a meeting, the date was supposed to be 12/15 - I remembered only on 12/22! The bad thing was - I thought 12/22 was 12/15!!! 6) I never got to feel the cold weather!! Was it just me or it didn't get chilly?

So why this post? Well, I've been truly blessed last 2008! Truly!! :) I mean, of course there were hardships - but even so - I feel truly truly truly blessed! So here are somethings that I am thankful to 2008 for:

- My Panget proposing: Honest to goodness, I was clueless. It came as a shock to me and to most everyone actually.

- Wining Trips: First was the Corregidor Trip thru Carlos Celdran's blog. Second was the Hong Kong Trip thru Magic 89.9

- Trips: There were countless trips! First was Sagada (drove 12 freaking hours!), Second was Corregidor (won this!), Third was Guam (Mabuhay Miles was offering 50% off on miles!), Fourth was Hong Kong (won this!), Fifth was Bangkok (Uber cheap fare from Cebu Pacific!) and the last trip for the year was in Cebu for my friend's wedding!

borrowed from THIS site..

- First EVER published article in Manila Bulletin: It was one of the perks (as winner) of the Hong Kong Trip (sponsored by the Hong Kong Tourism Board)

- Contests in my blog: I can't explain the feeling of gratitude! Thanks to all my readers! Especially to those who sponsor prizes! :)

- New friends: I never thought that I'd have a sort of a 'cyber-barkada'. I mean, seriously - who would have thought that meeting people online would result to serious friendships? I know there will still be eyebrows raised - but I am proud to say that these 'cyber-barkada' of mine - I love them to bits!! :) It amazes me on how we got together - who would have thought that our paths will cross? For all the help, support, cheering-up, invites and most especially the warm welcoming arms - I truly love you guys!! :) Here's to you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you and you!! There's this one cyber-friend that I haven't actually met in person (we've chatted, exchanged emails & SMS), but I would love love love to meet! Its strange that I haven't even met her - yet, I can say that I love love love and appreciate her for everything. I don't know why, but I feel somewhat connected to her - I seriously can't explain it. Hahaha!! :)

- Superb travelling companions: I have to say - if it wasn't for the company - my trips this year would have flopped big time!! I've had the BEST travelling companions! Lucky, lucky me!! My Corregidor Trip was so wonderful! My Hong Kong trip was one for the books!! I will never ever forget you guys! Thanks for the wonderful company and the memories!! :) Thanks Carlos, Mickey & Wife, Anton & Family, Jen & Stan, Jesus & Company, Reena & Dan, Sandro & Sheng and Lucci.

- Watching the Rick Astley concert for free!! Thanks Girlie & Emilie! I know, it's mababaw - but my gosh - my Panget and I loooooooved it!! :)

- I found Faith: It made my 2008 more peaceful. He indeed works in mysterious ways! It was by that faith that I was able to abstain from eating pork and beef for the whole year. Yes, no cheating!!

- I became a 'model' for a day and posed for a magazine! Thank you Marbee, Kitten, Barbi and Pat!! :) Mwaaaaaaaaah!! :)

- Learning to pay it forward: I was so inspired by the Dialogues at Starbucks talk of JP. Thanks Fran and Z for inviting me!! :) Mwah!!

- For the mababaw TV moments: I am so thankful to JJ Abrams and Damon Lindelof - LOST kicked major ass! Josh Schwartz - CHUCK is amazing! Neil Patrick Harris - BARNEY is the man! You're my new Chandler (a.k.a. favorite TV character) Jericho Rosales - You're back in the game!! :) Rejoice! Rejoice!! :)

Happy 2009 guys! :) Wish you all the best!!

Thanks for a wonderful 2008!

Mwaaaaaaaaaaah!! :)
