Pole Dancing

Nope, this we didn't get to do!

I have a new found respect for Pole Dancers!

The moves look really simple to do - but I just have to say... NOT EASY!!

Pole dancing requires upper arm strength, flexibility and open-ness :)

Lala and Judy of Movement Studio in Greenhills were nice enough to teach us a couple of moves.

Man, they seemed easy at first - but when we tried them ourselves - it was HARD!

It's a total body work out, I tell you. At the end of two hours - we were all drained! Hahaha..

My arms hurt like hell now. I have bruises on my arms and legs (this was normal according to Judy) I would love to try it again.. Hehehe...

    I wanna try! Pero I'm 25 lbs heavier than 10 years ago. What you said about upper arm strength and flexibility --- I lost all that with the weight gain! Baka maputol ko yung pole. LOL.

    I've always wanted to watch but I'd rather do Street Dance/Hip Hop/Modern Jazz. Parang I'm too old for this hahaha!

    I heart pole dancing! It took me a while to do that move you posted but I still cant flip myself upside down in 2 seconds! :(

Learning Mandarin, what method is best?

I studied in a sort of Chinese school for 13 years. So that "sort of' means, I SHOULD know how to speak basic Mandarin right? NOT QUITE!! I studied in a Chinese school where we only get less than an hour of Chinese class daily.  When you think about it, well - one hour a day, should be okay - but the problem is, at that time - it was pure memorization.  The books that we used, were those traditional books that I honestly have no idea what is written in them.  I see Chinese characters and they're just that - Chinese characters without meaning, nothing.  It was not practical if you ask me.  The words we were taught were not used in everyday conversation It was only during my 3rd or 4th year of high school that I realized how important knowing how to speak Chinese was.  It was during a trip to the Chinese border from Hong Kong that while I was going around the mall, I was having a hard time communicating with people who looked like me.  I wa...
