Greenwich Ultimate Bandkada is Plethora!!

PRESS RELEASE

PLETHORA Is The Greenwich #UltimateBandkada Search Season 2 Champion

It’s official: PLETHORA is this year’s Greenwich Ultimate Bandkada.

The group, composed of LJ Herrera (vocals/bass), Aldrin Isaguire (keyboardist), Jesser Pello (drums), and Andrew Isaguire (lead guitarist), won the seal of approval of the judges after their fantastic rendition of Ultimate Barkada Experience with a neoclassical metal and rock, but also a reggae and alternative twist. The group emerged as the top band among the eight finalists at the culminating event held recently at Valkyrie at The Palace in Taguig City.

The Greenwich Ultimate Bandkada Search Grand Face-Off began with an opening number by B-Boys, Season 1’s Champion. Greenwich kabarkada and MTV VJs Yassi Pressman and Andre Paras took center stage along with Greenwich Ultimate Bandkada Season 2 resident host, Mon Ti. Witnessing the electrifying show was a mix of music moguls, musicians, band supporters, and members of the media.

Civ Fontanilla (Viva Records), Yumi Lacsamana (Viva), Sheyee (Viva), Armi Millare (Up Dharma Down), and Denise Manahan (JB Music) had the tedious task of judging the eight finalists for the night. At the end of the night, Plethora won the much-coveted title of Greenwich Ultimate Bandkada Search Season 2 Champions. They also received 100,000php and a recording contract with VIVA records.

“We’re very happy with the win! We gave our very best starting from day 1” says LJ Herrera on their victory. ABCG came in second, while Happy Ending came in third.

Bagging more than one title that night, our Ultimate Bandkada Champions, Plethora, also took home the title of Favorite ng Barkada after they successfully earned the most number of votes from the official online poll of the competition.

“Greenwich is once again successful in providing a venue where best friends can bond and enjoy awesome music over great food. This ultimate barkada experience is not only evident tonight but throughout the duration of the Search. We are thankful that Greenwich is supporting OPM this way. Music is a great way to foster friendship and this initiative cannot do a better job than it already has. We are happy to be a partner of The Ultimate Bandkada Search for two years now and we look forward to more in the coming years.”, shares Val S. Del Rosario, Viva Communications, Inc. Vice President for Production and MTV Pinoy Content Head.

Learning Mandarin, what method is best?

I studied in a sort of Chinese school for 13 years. So that "sort of' means, I SHOULD know how to speak basic Mandarin right? NOT QUITE!! I studied in a Chinese school where we only get less than an hour of Chinese class daily.  When you think about it, well - one hour a day, should be okay - but the problem is, at that time - it was pure memorization.  The books that we used, were those traditional books that I honestly have no idea what is written in them.  I see Chinese characters and they're just that - Chinese characters without meaning, nothing.  It was not practical if you ask me.  The words we were taught were not used in everyday conversation It was only during my 3rd or 4th year of high school that I realized how important knowing how to speak Chinese was.  It was during a trip to the Chinese border from Hong Kong that while I was going around the mall, I was having a hard time communicating with people who looked like me.  I wa...
