Nostalgia Bloggista of the Week

I have always loved old Manila, and so when I came across the blog Nostalgia Manila - I became an instant lurker. The features of this blog - make me smile and reminisce old times. I appreciate old Manila very well, in fact - I love seeing the old buildings and facades in downtown Manila. I also love listening and singing along with OPM songs. I can't emphasize enough that I adore Gary V's songs pre-Born Again era. I used to watch his movies, one that I can't forget is the one where he shares the bida role with Jestoni Alarcon. Yes, I'm a tagalog flick FAN-atic, my friends can attest to that. My favorite season? Christmas - of course? Why? Four words - Metro Manila Film Festival.

Two weeks ago, I got the shock of my life (well, for that week) - because I was sent an email by those behind Nostalgia Manila and they wanted to feature me as their Bloggista of the week! As I read through the questions - man, did I want to answer everything as specific as possible! But if I did - well, the whole page would be mine. And so I had to edit out most of my answers. As for my bloggista photo - that's me and my twin brother. I just adore the shirt he was wearing! According to our mom, he refused to take off the shirt. Hahaha.. Those were the days.. :)

Here's THE LINK to the complete feature.

Thanks Nostalgia Manila!!

ANSON SUPERMARKET - Grocery delivery!!

Sharing is caring, so we can't keep it a secret any longer.  THIS is where we get out groceries!  Well, Anson Supermarket has been where we have been purchasing all of our kids' diapers!  From Kailee to Connor to Shobe!  Yes, yes, yes! A week into the lockdown, it just occurred to us that we can get our groceries from them - but then we thought, we didn't want to force them to do it - after all it's a different time now.  But when we asked and they said yes, it was like we won the lottery.  We sent out our list - a very VERY SPECIFIC list and voila after a day or two (we weren't in a rush) they told us to schedule a pick up.  Please remember that I am sharing this with you guys because I believe so much in the saying 'sharing is caring'.  Please be mindful of your language and respect those who will call or message you about your orders.  Also note that some items might NOT be available - so manage your expectations.   They're a ...

#CookingQuest: Winter Melon Soup ala Didi #EnhancedCommunity

One of the things that gets ooohs and aaaahs in a chinese restaurant is the #WinterMelonSoup.   You may ask why?  Well because with this soup, restaurants use the winter melon itself as a huge bowl to serve the soup!  It's a sight to see as you'll be amazed how they were able to pull it off.  You'll see the whole winter melon, and then suddenly they're take out the top part and when you peek in, the soup is inside together with meat bits and other veggies!  My mom has tried it at home, and I remember her being nervous that the winter melon doesn't break apart, kunde sira ang presentation! So during this #EnhancedCommunityQuarantine, I chanced upon Theo's Farm that they have winter melon, so I ordered.  When I saw it - I knew I wouldn't be able to pull off the carving and serving the winter melon.  It actually made the preparation easier.  I had to ask my mom, and she told me to steam the winter melon to soften it.  Honestly, I don't t...

Shopping in Guam

While walking around K-Mart - I was asking myself - did I need anything? Nothing popped! Hahaha.. Until I realized - that I was in a US territory, meaning most American goods that I always ask my Panget's brother to buy MUST be here somewhere. Right there and then, things I wanted started to come of my head! I searched for the following items first: - Caladryl Clear - Creme Bleach - Carmex - Vick's Vapor Rub (Made in Mexico - my Aunt, specified this!) - Efferdent Denture Cleansers (my Aunt's) - Pepcid AC Maximum Strength - Lip Balms - DIY Highlights Kit - Pentel RSVP Pen Set - Secret Deodorant in Vanilla - And some other unique stuffs! Hahaha... So, did I get all of them? Hahaha! I did - except for the Carmex - apparently, the K-Mart Guam does not carry Carmex! Hmmm.. Strange, but what can I do right? Let the pictures do the talking... Shopping in Guam can be C.R.A.Z.Y. !! Think about this - a street that has 2 LV stores, 2 Gucci stores, 2 Bottega Venneta stores, 2 Prada s...
