H&M Mama

I knew there was a maternity line at H&M. I was so glad that there was because when I went to Hong Kong last July - this was all I could think about!  I was so excited to go shopping.  Unfortunately, the items were not as vast as if it were the non-maternity.  Styles were limited BUT the variety was good enough.  I wished there were more but hey, I can't complain. Last week, I went to Seoul - I had no idea if Seoul had an H&M, I was honestly clueless!  But while walking in Myeongdong - I saw Koreans holding bags of H&M - this made me a little excited, because it may mean that there is an H&M store in Seoul!  And true enough after a few steps, I saw it!  I went inside and walked around looking for the maternity line - and I saw none.  Sigh. So when I got back to the hotel - I searched online and found a blog entry that mentioned that there was indeed an H&M Mama line in one of the Myeongdong stores.  Good thing, my Pa...

Fisher Honey Roasted Peanuts

I love peanuts... But only adobong mani, the salted ones without balat and honey roasted ones. On the Korean Airlines flight to Seoul, we were served with peanuts as snacks. I am one not to turn them down - so I munched on a pack, the brand was Fisher. And it tasted WONDERFUL! And so I asked the flight attendant for another pack, and another and another. Yes, this was my main snack while en route to Seoul! I think I consumed at least 5 packs... Hahahaha!! :) I wish I can purchase more!! Sigh... They're not available here in Manila.... :(

Seoul Bound: Korean Airlines

The last time I was in Seoul was in 1995 or 1996. All I remember during that trip with my mom was that the food was great everywhere.  And I remember purchasing my ice skating shoes - that I was able to use once or twice in Mega.  Also the Lotte Hotel and the Lotte shopping center/department store.  Oh, and that Koreans do not know how to speak English. Two weeks ago, my Panget broached the idea of going to Seoul for a business trip.  I honestly wasn't excited because I wanted to go Hong Kong, but then my Panget's Seoul trip pushed through. The flight that was booked for us left Manila at 12:20AM via Korean Airlines. Hmm... I was hesitant because I remember listening to Malcolm Gladwell's Outliers and there was an issue with Korean Airlines before. But then, what greeted us were pretty Korean flight attendants! The plane was fairly new (I think) because each seat has its own TV with remote control for channel surfing and games!  The flight took 3 hou...

Cupcake Attempt #3: Pink Cupcakes!!

I have been craving for something sweet for the past week. I actually bought a Coffee Crunch cake from Red Ribbon. I was browsing through blogs when I found Joey's post on her Yellow Cupcakes .  This reminded my of my cupcake making phase a few years ago - Cupcake Attempt #1 and Cupcake Attempt #2 .  It has been years since I made cupcakes.  I actually used the same recipe that Joey used.  And here's the result! I decided to make Pink frosting! :) Here's the recipe: Magnolia Bakery Vanilla Cupcakes 2 sticks (1 cup) unsalted butter 2 cups sugar 4 large eggs 1 ½ cups self raising flour 1 ¼ cups all purpose flour 1 cup milk 1 tsp vanilla extract - Preheat oven to 350F. - Line two 12 cup muffin tins with cupcake papers. - Cream butter at medium speed in large bowl. - Add sugar gradually and beat until fluffy. Then add eggs. - Combine flours. Add to butter mixture in four parts, alternating with the milk and vanilla extract. - Spoon the batter...

The EVENT

I've only heard of this show from my Brother and Panget. They've been saying that it should be a big hit.  And everybody is curious on what the show is going to be about. Last night, my Panget brought home the two episodes he's downloaded. We watched. I was bored. And confused. And I became dizzy with the flashbacks. The show for me is a cross of The X-Files and LOST.  I don't want to say anything yet, but hey - I'll give this show three more episodes and from there, we'll see how it goes for me.

Dancing with the Stars

When I was little, my mom told me that I used to sing and dance in pre-school. I believed her because she has pictures to prove that I did! And so as I grew up, I thought that I had a singing voice, unfortunately – I didn’t practice it. American Idol was one of my favorite shows, that was when Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell were still in it. When Paula left and was replaced by Ellen, the show was not as good for me anymore. I wasn’t as excited to watch it unlike before. For quite a while now – years actually, my Panget has been telling me that he’s been intrigued with Dancing with the Stars. To be quite honest, I was laughing inside – I mean, my Panget? Interested to watch Dancing with the Stars? Really now? I’ve been waiting for him to start downloading, but it never happened. So I just dismissed it as some sort of a curiosity that went away from time to time. But Last week was different, he FINALLY downloaded the season premiere! I was shocked and excited – shocked bec...
