Irene's Quezo de Bola Cheesecake

Cheesecake was the first thing that I learned to make - a lot of.  It was easy and most everyone likes cheesecake.  My cheesecake was really simple - I got the recipe from my ICA HS Home Economics class - it was a no bake recipe.  You can say I impressed quite a number of people with it - hehehe...

To tell you the truth - Cheesecake is not something I really really like.  I appreciate it but its not my favorite.

That is UNTIL - Irene's Quezo de Bola Cheesecake!


She gifted me and my Panget one for Christmas and it was D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S!  The mix of sweetness and  tartness of the quezo de bola was WONDERFUL!  It was actually love at first taste - my Panget said it was really good and sinful (the cheesy-ness is loooooooooove!)  We decided to keep half of the cheesecake for the next day - but while watching TV - I couldn't stop thinking about the cheesecake!  I finally gave in and took the half out of the ref and ate it all.  Imagine - it was haunting my mind the whole time - I had to give in right?


That's what Irene's Quezo de Bola cheesecake did to me.

So for those cheesecake lovers - give Irene's cheesecake a try and I'm sure you're going to love it as much as I did!  It might haunt you too, so order more! Because that's what I just did!!

#CookingQuest: Winter Melon Soup ala Didi #EnhancedCommunity

One of the things that gets ooohs and aaaahs in a chinese restaurant is the #WinterMelonSoup.   You may ask why?  Well because with this soup, restaurants use the winter melon itself as a huge bowl to serve the soup!  It's a sight to see as you'll be amazed how they were able to pull it off.  You'll see the whole winter melon, and then suddenly they're take out the top part and when you peek in, the soup is inside together with meat bits and other veggies!  My mom has tried it at home, and I remember her being nervous that the winter melon doesn't break apart, kunde sira ang presentation! So during this #EnhancedCommunityQuarantine, I chanced upon Theo's Farm that they have winter melon, so I ordered.  When I saw it - I knew I wouldn't be able to pull off the carving and serving the winter melon.  It actually made the preparation easier.  I had to ask my mom, and she told me to steam the winter melon to soften it.  Honestly, I don't t...

Shopping in Guam

While walking around K-Mart - I was asking myself - did I need anything? Nothing popped! Hahaha.. Until I realized - that I was in a US territory, meaning most American goods that I always ask my Panget's brother to buy MUST be here somewhere. Right there and then, things I wanted started to come of my head! I searched for the following items first: - Caladryl Clear - Creme Bleach - Carmex - Vick's Vapor Rub (Made in Mexico - my Aunt, specified this!) - Efferdent Denture Cleansers (my Aunt's) - Pepcid AC Maximum Strength - Lip Balms - DIY Highlights Kit - Pentel RSVP Pen Set - Secret Deodorant in Vanilla - And some other unique stuffs! Hahaha... So, did I get all of them? Hahaha! I did - except for the Carmex - apparently, the K-Mart Guam does not carry Carmex! Hmmm.. Strange, but what can I do right?
