My Havaianas Broke!! Again..

Again, my havaianas broke! The strap broke off again! My first ever Havaianas' strap broke just last year (May 2005 to be exact). So this is the second time it happend to me. I'm beginning to think that these flip flops don't last long . I bought this paticular pair July of this year. And it's not as if I always use it - I alternate it with my other pairs. So why did it break off? I have no freaking idea! I wish I harrased it and used it every single day - just to justify the strap breaking off. After this entry, I will again, write to Havaianas Philippines to complain. Damn Havaianas!

Don't they just look lovely?

Don't they look lovely?? Got this pic from www.chinadaily.com

Jonathan Matti

Who are you? (Since you hassled me and were kinda rude and 'finicky' your name deserves to be on my blog..) Have you heard of him? Well, I haven't and last week was the first time I heard his name . He needed a mega white carpet (his staff Aida even doubting the color named Bleached White, I sent him the picture thru email yet, there was doubt - we're not color blinds you know..) installed at his model unit at the Two Serendra - and yesterday, we did install it - despite a lot of setbacks like the room still being painted and with a lot of stuffs), and now that I am following up the payment - naku! Kinda lang ah, pahirapan... When I called, a guy named Paolo answered my call - and I could hear a guy shouting in the background - the suddenly the phone went dead! Nabagsakan pa ako ng telepono . Then when I called again, high and mighty Mr. Matti answered the phone, at first he was pleasant and then he barged me with 'I heard you were rude to my staff!'

Krispy Kreme on my mind..(and tummy!)

Last night, my Panget hand delivered a box of 1 dozen Krispy Kreme. Apparently, he had time to go and buy some for me. Thanks Panget! When I got the box, I immediately sampled one - my god - it tasted delicious! All I could utter was 'S*&^ ang saraaaaaaap!' even my mom became curious and tried one. She said that it was good, soft but very very sweet. I love sweets! Except of course, chocolates (yikes.., I don't like them at all!) Here's an image of the lone Krispy Kreme left from the loot my Panget gave me I ate 2 1/2 pieces last night. Had 2 pieces for dinner. Had 1 piece right before lunch and now, I just finished my merienda piece. Total count - 6 pieces (gosh, that's half of the loot already!) I don't even want to count the calories anymore! Good thing, I'll be attending Bikram Yoga later.. Hehehehe... :)

Heroes

This is one of the new shoes that I am kind of into right now. At first I was hesitant to watch the first few episodes for fear the I would get hooked. Since my Panget went on a road trip last week, and there were 3 days with no work - I decided to give it a go. Unfortunately, we only had 3 episodes of the show. So I had to make a schedule on what show to watch at what time, so that I wouldn't get bitin . I made it a point to just watch 1 episode a day. Yes, unbelievably - I was able to control my urges! Now, it's already Monday - and just a few minutes ago - I saw the 6th episode. The first 5 episodes were okay - I was on my toes watching them, but on the 6th episode, I got kinda bored - I don't know why?! But I found some parts boring. Maybe I was looking for more 'action' and answers too. For those who've been keeping an eye on this series, can you clarify some things for me? Kindly highlight to see the questions, WARNING - SPOILERS (for those who h

Quite back to sqare one..

Last night, I attended my regular Yoga class. What made it different was that it was my first Yoga class in 5 days. Yes, I was on a break - I got caught up on some stuffs thus, I decided to take a break. It was kinda hard, but not as hard as I expected it to be. I thought that I would be struggling all throughout the 90-minute session, but good thing - I only struggled on some parts. It felt really good, to go back to practicing Bikram Yoga. I think Bikram Yoga has grown on me - my body looks for it, I don't get tamad to attend a class. This is a good thing, I just hope I can continue on with this for the years to come. I say years because finally, I have found an exercise that I like. I like the heat (is this me?!) I like tha pace, I like the stretcing, I like the sweating (again, is this me talking?!) Try it for a change!! Bikram Yoga Manila - Makati Branch 15/F 88 Corporate Center 141 Valero Street corner Sedeño Streets Salcedo Village, Makati City Tel. 889-1011 Bikram Y

James Bond & Daniel Craig: Casino Royale

Bond, James Bond. This line has been so familiar to us, it transcends generations and years - everyone knows James Bond. I've never been a fan of the James Bond franchise, it was my Panget who's a big fan. I remember fondly, while studying in Beijing - my friends and I had our weekly DVD shopping spree, and suddenly I found a complete set of the James Bond films - from Sean Connery, to Roger Moore, to Timothy Dalton, to Pierce Brosnan (did I miss anyone?) They had all the titles, what's worse was - they were being sold - irritatingly cheap! I was reluctant at first to purchase the whole thing, so I sent my Panget text message asking if he would like the whole set - as you may have guessed - he did. And so I proceeded and purchased the whole set. I don't remember the exact number of titles - but it was plenty! When I got back from Beijing - the first DVD that we watched together was a Sean Connery - James Bond flick. I kept on laughing because there were no soun

My cousin's wedding

Last Saturday, was my cousin's wedding. She was the first one in the family to get married! And so I think everyone was excited. We were never actually close, but we had a connection, maybe because we went to Beijing together, and because of that - there was a bond formed. I can't explain it but she's someone I really treasure. Her presence was the one that kept me sane during the one semester I spent in Beijing. If I felt homesick - I'll just send her a text message and when she'd reply - I felt better. I was surprised that she included me in her bridal entourage, but at the same time I was happy that I was going to be part of it! Since she was the first in the family to get married, it was the first time in years that I was part of a relative's bridal entourage. The story of me finding out that I was part of it was kind of funny. The designer, who is the groom's sister and I also became friends because of Beijing, we bumped into one another in Man

Whatta Thursday!!

Yesterday was an event filled day, I witnessed a burning luxury van in Murphy Cubao, went to look at the Corelle sale at Eastwood, check out The Block in SM North Edsa, shopped in a hurry in Gateway Mall in Cubao, literally walked through Aurora Boulevard in Cubao, ate delicious steak at New Manila, had my pedicure in Posh Nails, and finally had foot massage at Footloose in Tomas Morato. All these I did from 2:00 in the afternoon till about 11:45 in the evening. Let's a have an actual run down, shall we? I left the office at around 2:00pm to accompany my mom to the Corelle and Pyrex sale at Eastwood in Libis. On the way there, near Camp Aguinaldo - we were met by heavy traffic. The driver told us that there was a fire somewhere because he could see black smoke. The weird thing was that it looked like it was coming from the street and not inside the camp! When we got closer - we saw that it was a luxury van, the ones like celebrities used! It was burning like crazy and dark bla

30-Day Challenge: Completed!

Last Saturday afternoon, I complete the 30-Day Challenge of Bikram Yoga Manila. FINALLY !! I've done it! Yehaaa!!! :) To celebrate my feat, I decided to take the Sunday off yoga, the bad thing was - my body was looking for it! I woke up in time for the 9:30am class but I told myself to go back to sleep, I tried but failed. So, what did the 30-Day Challenge do to me: 1) I get better sleep! Even if it's less that 8 hours, I still wake up each day with a smile! Every morning, it seems like I find myself more cheerful and each day seems so sun shiney to me! 2) I can eat more and not gain weight! Although I have not lost any weight - it's the inches I think, because my clothes definitely fit better. My Yoga buddies tell me that my body is more toned. Maybe if I give it more time - I just might lose the unwanted pounds, but what the heck, it's the inches that more important! :) 3) I have no lower back pain at all! Bikram Yoga worked magic to my lowerback pain. I

Yoga in the morning..

I just got back from my Bikram Yoga session. I needed to catch up because I took the 30-Day Challenge . Since there were 2 holidays (November 1 &2) plus another day because I got sick - I need to take 3 double days to make-up for lost time. Today was my first time to take the 8:30am class, since it was first thing in the morning - I didn't know what to expect. I knew for a fact that my body will still be stiff - but what the heck - I needed to do it. I was also told by Tristan that the hottest class were the morning classes - good thing the weather was quite gloomy - Nakikisama ang panahon sa akin . I reached the studio at about 8:15am, as I signed up for class I noticed that there were already about 6 people who's already signed up ahead of me! Most were women, there was only 1 guy who was with us. As I entered the locker room to deposit my things - I saw familiar faces, most were mothers - they had already brought their kids to school and this was their only free t

Cupcakes: Attempt #1

I have been craving for cupcakes since I last visited Cupcakes by Sonja after Market Man's eyeball . Christine suggested that I make my own concoction to suffice my craving - a good idea? - Brilliant! And so I searched the information super highway for recipes for a good cupcake. I searched and searched till it dawned on me that I was looking for the wrong kind of recipe. Since I was craving for Sonja's cupcakes - why not try and search for the Magnolia Bakery's original recipe! When I hit the search button - the results were alarming! There were numerous sites that were giving away the recipe, the famous bakery even had it's own cookbook for sale in Amazon! Thus - I copied 2 recipes. Both recipes asked for self-rising flour, what in the world is that and where will I find such? I sent an SMS to my good friend Jen and my Panget's sister-in-law. They both told me to make my own self-rising flour, since the recipe called for 1-1/2 cups self-rising flour I

Spaghetti with Clams

Last night - was for the first time in years that I cooked my own pasta dinner. I have been so out of the cooking loop for a long loooong time now. And yesterday, when our fish/seafood man called to ask what we want to be delivered - I immediately thought of Clams/Halaan! And when it was delivered - I was quite shocked to see that they were huge! I was so used to the small clams that were served in restaurants. Nevertheless - I had the whole to day to plan what I wanted to with the clams. Make it into soup or a pasta dish? I searched the web for recipes - and I found 2 recipes from food tv. One's from Tyler Florence and the other was from Giada De Laurentiis. I couldn't decide which one I would use. I was looking at both of them the whole afternoon - tossing from one to the other. It was just after my yoga practice that I decided to go with Giada's recipe. I figured - Tyler's was the better choice - but I've never tried anything from Giada - and so I gave h

Cupcakes by Sonja

Berries and Cream Cupcakes by Sonja Serendra, The Fort Since we were at The Fort last Saturday night - my friend Jen, my Panget and I went on ahead and took a look at the Serendra. I've been there before - but during the day. I had lunch there with Gracie a few weeks ago (or was it already a month ago?) Jen and my Panget wanted to see the Cupcakes by Sonja store. Since they've been hearing so many things about it - might as well see what the fuss is all about right? Good thing there weren't that many people. We were able to find parking instantly! We then headed down to the store. It was brightly lit - and full of people. Well, mainly because the store is not very big. When we entered the store, I immediately asked if they had Berries and Cream, this I was told was made of fresh strawberries, since I love strawberries - I had to give it a try. And so I did. I was lucky enough because they had only one piece left. Galing noh?! When Sonja Ocampo handed me the cupc

Market Man's EB

EDSA traffic - on a S aturday night en route to The Fort Going out on a Saturday night may cause headaches - why? Well, simply because everybody in the Metro WANTS to be out. But nevertheless - my Panget, Jen and I weaved through EDSA just to get to Gourdo's at The Fort in time for dinner. It was a special occassion for Jen and I because FINALLY - we will be meeting Market Man . I have been a lurker of his blog and now I will be meeting him in the flesh, in the flesh! Most of you must be wondering - why I am excited at all?! Well, because in the local blog scene - Market Man is a celebrity, yes - he definitely is. I love his blog, I love his humor, I love reading his thoughts on just about anything. On the information super highway, it is a rarity that one can put a face to a handle(nick name) because everyone remains anonymous (unless of course if you're friends with that certain person). This month - I am celebrating my blog anniversary - it was just last year that

I'm a Lumpia!!

Excited, super duper excited!

I am super excited for tomorrow night's buffet dinner at Gourdo's! Finally, I will be meeting Market Man face-to-face. I have been a lurker of his blog for the past six months and I must say, I love his blog - I visit it almost everyday(actually, everyday..) - hoping that when I click on his link - I will be reading a new entry. At the same time, I will be able to put faces with the names of the other blogs that I frequent. When I read that MM was entertaining thoughts of having a 2nd EB - I was delighted. I immediately sent an SMS to my good friend Jen (who I miss by the way...) asking her I she was game, to be honest - I don't think I need to ask! She was deinitely game. Great! The plan is now close to perect! One thing left to do - and that is to convince my Panget to attend with me. I had to think of something, something great and unique - to try convince him to come with me. Good thing, the EB asked for the attendees to bring desserts - a dessert buffet.

Grey's Anatomy

Finally! I've decided to watch this show. Finally!! I've been told a dozen times by different people that this show is gooooood. But I never got myself to watch this show - why? I don't really know. I've never been fascinated with medical dramas. Anyhoo, the verdict? Well, I'm not as obsessed with it as I am with Lost or Prison Break - but, I LIKE it. I've been trying my best not to sleep on the wee hours just to finish the episodes, but looks like - I will be. It's not addicting but it's fascinating. Maybe I'm speaking too soon! One thing I liked about the show is how they humanized the characters (duh?!) Doctors pala have emotions too. (I know?!) They're not just machines/robots (as I assume them to be) who react when given a stimuli. I was touched and naawa in a couple of episodes. The show brings a different flavor and taste to the table. Why not, diba ?! P.S. Meredith Grey looks so young! Unbelievable! I thought she was

The Prestige

Saw this last Sunday with my Panget, his brother and sis-in-law. I was told that this movie was great - that it had a lot of twist. My Panget's sister told us to listen intently - and so I did. I was quite confused on what event first transpired. It was like watching Memento all over again - there were a lot of flashbacks and it was a little confusing. The movie was going to and from the past to the present and vice versa. Maybe I expected too much.. I was quite shocked, impressed and found it funny when I saw that David Bowie was in the movie. The role fits him perfectly - but that's just me.

Addiction to....

I've been busy for the past few days (weeks actually) - I've been doing Bikram Yoga everyday, our internet connection as been on and off, work is kind of getting toxic and stressful - but I'm not complaining! I've no time to blog or even think! (feeling ko lang yan..) My Panget has told me countless of times that since I started Yoga - it was all I could talk about. Well, of course! That is what I have been doing for the past weeks! I just took the 30-day challenge wherein I have to attend yoga for 30 straigt days - without fail. I've been successful and it's my 12th day today. And so far so good! I always thought that as the days progress, things will get easier - but the opposite is happening! I'm having a harder time balancing, holding my poses andmore! But at the same time, I've seen improvements in my flexibility - when before I couldn't get my forehead to the floor - now I can! Yipee!! It's such an acheivement for me! My cloth

Alma Maters - matter?

When meeting people for this first time, one usually seeks the 6-degress of separation. We ask a lot of questions - throw in a lot of names - trying to attach one to the other - to connect the familiarity. For me, the first question I ask is 'Which school (HS or University) did you attend?' And then I ask for the batch. Am I weird? Well, I have this theory that whatever school you answer with that question - is 'the' school that you a proud of. As for me, when asked this question - I automatically say the name of my High School - the University I attended is just a secondary answer to the question (if there's a follow-up). So - do Alma Maters, matter?

Bikram Yoga Part 2

Yesterday afternoon, I attended my 2nd Bikram Yoga class. I went with my mom, I somehow convinced her to give it a try - since she saw how much I sweated(is there such a word?) lst Saturday. We came in time for the briefing for beginners - I pointed my mom to go to Tristan so she'll be briefed on what to expect. Upon entering the studio proper, I already felt the heat - it was as if you entered a slightly heated oven. While I was positioning my and my mom's yoga mat - I was already sweating! Take note: I was merely fixing the yoga mats in place. When we started the breathing exercises - I was already sweating like crazy! And there was more sweat as the session progressed. The towel that was on my yoga mat was so wet! I couldn't believe it! The one infront of me was Patty Betita - the former model - she's still very pretty and sexy ah! You can see from her outfit that she was also sweating - her tank top was changing it's color! Yikes! Since it was my seco

October 24 - A Holiday!!

I just learned of this 'officially' last night. Another holiday, yipee!! But its in the middle of the week - oh well, at least Monday night - we can do whatever!! :) hahaha.. :) Palace declares Oct. 24 as regular holiday in observance of Feast of Ramadhan FRIDAY, OCTOBER 13, 2006 | GOVERNMENT MANAGEMENT In order to bring to the fore of national consciousness the religious and cultural significance of the Eid’l Fitr, the Muslim Feast of Ramadhan, Malacanang has declared Tuesday, Oct. 24, as a regular holiday nationwide. In Proclamation 1155 which Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita signed today, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo cited the need to promote cultural understanding and integration. The declaration, Ermita said, would give the entire Filipino nation the full opportunity to join their Muslim brothers and sisters in the observance and celebration of Eid'l Fitr. The main date for this year’s celebration of Ramadhan has been determined to fall on Oct. 24. Republic

My first BIKRAM YOGA session

I officially tried YOGA this morning - and the verdict? I LIKED IT!! My gosh, I was sweating like crazy - and I feel like I've worked out my whole body! That's just in a 90 minutes sesson. I honesly did not expect to sweat that much! To think that the room was not heated (it is supposed to be heated, unfortuantely - BYM still had to wait for Meralco to give them sufficient power) Compared to running on the treadmill for 30 minutes and just sweating - with YOGA, I was working out various body parts at the same time! I couldn't stop raving about yoga to my mom - thus she might give it a try too! (Excuse the exclamation points..) My arms are so sore, it was like I excersized with dumbells for a long time. But nevertheless, it feels great! (Can you beleive I'm saying this?) I still could not believe I was able to do some poses! Sure, I got off balanced a couple of time - but still! I was able to do most of the poses. I had a hard time 'holding' the pose

Red Ribbon Bakeshop & thier Ensaymada: Rant and Rave

Yesterday, my mom had this sudden ensaymada craving. Thus she called up Hizons in J.Bocobo Street to order a few pieces of their delicious ensaymada and mocha cake (yes!!). She then instructed our driver to pick it up. The yummy ensaymadas and mocha cake(micorwaved on High for 15 seconds) arrived during lunch time. Then, that afternoon, she had a meeting with her Church group, and her good friend Tita Mia gave her a Red Ribbon ensaymada by chance. This morning as she was about to open the sealed ensaymada. She noticed that there was a dark spot on the ensaymada. Curious on what it was - she took a closer look - and guess what she discovered? A tiny cockroach! It was embedded on top of the ensaymada! She didn't believe what she saw - she even asked the helper to identify what it was. I too was in disbelief! Since the ensaymada was in a sealed plastic - I didn't expect to see a small cockroach there. I think that it was only recently that Red Ribbon packaged their ensa

Cupcakes by Sonja

I love cup cakes - they make me feel like I'm a kid again. They're so cute and fun to look at! They're simply an irristable treat for me - provided that its vanilla or butter flavored as I am not a fan of chocolates.. (I know, I'm weird - I get it..) I don't know why, but I am very much fascinated with them. I used to bake chocolate cupcakes for my brother's friends - and guessing by their reaction - they loved it! I've heard of her cupcakes but, I never got the chance to try them. My curiousity increased more as I read entries of the cupcakes from my favorite foodie blogs Ramblings of a Gypsy Soul and Our Awesome Planet . I was quite happy to learn from Anton of Our Awesome Plane t that she was opening shop soon at Serendra. When I tried to inquire on Sonja's cupcakes - I was given an invite to the dry run of her shop. Unfortunately, it was on a weekday and I had work! It was just last Saturday that I got the chance to visit her shop and sam

My lunch date with Gracie..

Last Saturday, I had lunch with my good friend Gracie. She just finished taking this year's bar and now, she's just waiting for the results on April next year. I couldn't remember the last time I saw her, but according to her - when she last saw me, my hair was still short. My, my that seemed ages ago. If I remember correctly - I decided to grow my hair last October 2004! Has it been that long? When I picked her up - she didn't look any different! You see, Gracie and I became friends last 2001. It was during a US trip that we finally met up and began talking. Acutally, I was forced in a situation I couldn't get out of. But good thing was that - I met a friend who's very dear to me until now. I can still remember that day clearly - as if it happened just yesterday. After that trip, Gracie became a 'best friend' we've sort of gone through a lot in that short span of time. And though we've just been friends for 5 years - it seems like I&

The Class by David Crane

I know it's not just me - but I think I can safely say that there are a lot of people who miss watching F.R.I.E.N.D.S. and secretly hope that they get back together and continue where they left off. I know I'm not alone when I say that I quote dialogues from F.R.I.E.N.D.S. - and that when I tell some of mine - they either look at me like I'm crazy - or look at me and agree with me. I really miss the whole Central Perk gang. A few months ago, I came across something on the internet it was a rumor that F.R.I.E.N.D.S. creator David Crane is cooking up a new show that is similar to F.R.I.E.N.D.S. I searched and searched until I found this show - last month. You wouldn't know how happy I was when I learned that the rumor was really true. I patiently waited and hoped to watch the tidbits of the pilot in youtube.com - well, what do you know right? Being a fan of US hit tv series, I know for a fact that the fall season means that old shows are coming back - and so I to

Yoga - Bikram Yoga in QC

What do Madonna, Cristy Turlington, Reese Witherspoon - have in common? YOGA - they've all practiced yoga sometime - to tone their muscles or to lose weight. Well, since I have this endless quest to lose weight - I will finally brave and try yoga for the first time next Tuesday. Next Tuesday will be the opening of the Bikram Yoga center in Quezon City. FInally! A Yoga studio near me!! I am very much excited and at the same time nervous. Nervous why? Well, the studio is kind of heated thus - I fear I might faint - but not to worry as I will get my 8 glasses of water a day , as suggested by the one I spoke to at the Makati head office. I was wondering though - what will be the effects? I have yet to meet a person who's a yoga follower. All the info I know are from 'narinig ko' and 'nabasa ko' from the internet to magazines. Wish me luck!! (again...)

a Del Monte Fruit Cocktail tale..

Just a few minutes ago, the helper came in the office and informed me and my mom that 4 out of the 5 cans of the Del Monte Fruit Cocktail that we were gifted with had both its ends pop out. I asked her to check the expiry date and she told us that it was going to expire on March 16, 2007. That's about 6 months from now! I was shocked to see the cans, when she presented them to me. After that conversation, I immediately called Del Monte Philippines - and I spoke to a Miss Je Zaguirre - she was very polite and eager to help. She asked me first if the product was a 'Fiesta' fruit cokctail and when I replied 'No' She answered me in a very nice way, unfortunately as she said 'It's not a locally made product therefore as much I want to help you, I can't' But good thing - she gave me the number of another distributor - Macondre. I will contact them tomorrow as it already late. I am attaching some images of the Del Monte Fruit Cocktail cans - all 4 h

Lost for words?

I've been wanting to post an entry since this morning - but it seems that I'm at a loss for words right now. Somehow, I could't decided what to write about. My mind is currently swimming in circles - there is no certain direction, nothing to go forward with. This is the first time in a long time. People who know me will not believe this - but truly - my train of though - nada....... Maybe this is the result of watching too much Tv for the past 5 days. Enough TV for the week? Nah! After I finish the 3rd season of my current fave TV show - maybe a hiatus for about a week. Maybe. By the way... Cubie - thanks so much for the hand butter and lip butter. I LOVE THEM!! They're really super nice!! The hand butter - I actually used it on my dry heels!! Thanks for being so sweet Cubie!!

Josh Duhamel - my new TV crush

Imagine speaking to him - face to face. Won't your knees go weak instantly? Couple it with this smile, dammit! He's so dreamy!! This begets too much watching Las Vegas. Dreamy huh?! Yes... The last TV crush that I had was back in the days where That's Entertainment was still showing. Do not ask me who - because for sure I will never disclose it!! Just look at him smiling - well, yeah - that's all I can think about as of the moment. To my Panget - don't get mad - crush lang ito ah.. Crush... :)

The Class

Got this from the tv.com site: In this CBS comedy created by David Crane (Friends), and Jeffrey Klarik (Mad About You), a group of twenty-somethings who were third-grade classmates are reunited at a surprise party 20 years later. What will happen when they find out what each other's lives are like now? The cast includes Jason Ritter as Ethan Haas, who planned the reunion of his fellow classmates, and who is crazy about his fiancé; Heather Goldenhersh as Lina Warbler, who truly believes in love, although she doesn't have that much luck in it; Lizzy Caplan as Kat Warbler, Lina's twin-sister, a cynical and sarcastical person; Jon Bernthal as Duncan Carmello, who still lives with his mother (Julie Halston); Sean Maguire as Kyle Lendo, a man that every girl had a crush during high school, but now he is living with his boyfriend Aaron. Jesse Tyler Ferguson portraits Richie, a unhappy man who's life hasn't treated him well since high school. Lucy Punch plays Holly Ellenbog

Montecito: Resort & Casino, Las Vegas

When I first saw this show, I thought that the Montecito Resort & Casino was a real casino. I thought maybe it was new and it just recently started its operations. But when I searched it on the internet - my search came empty handed. No such casino exists! When I visited Metrowalk last Friday, my Panget and I went to our friend Imma's suki for DVD's and while rummaging through her stacks of DVDs - I found the season 1-3 of Las Vegas (the series). At firs t, I was skeptical - but when I learned of the price of each DVD - I immediately handed it to Wheng (the nice lady who owns the stall) and I was really excited to watch it. As my Panget told me when we got to the car - 'May isang taong hindi na matutulog!' 'Someone's going to be up all night!' And he got it right - because I couldn't sleep!! I was hooked on watching it episode after episode. And last night - at about 2:00am I finished the first season's finale - and to top it off, I saw
I just looooooove looking at them!! The look really really really good together.. Damn.

Eye Opener..

I never really realized how young I was amidst my Panget's group. Well, you see last night, we had a baby shower dinner for my Panget's college friend Tricia. Its her second pregnancy and her he's having another a girl (again). We had dinner at Gulliver's in Quezon Avenue - unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures of our meals - they tasted fantastic by the way. During the dinner, my Panget's friends (which were all girls) got to talk - they were talking about their kids, pre-school, giving birth and a lot more 'mommy' topics. All of them gave their respective opinions on each topic, while I was just sitting there intenly listening to them. The topics ranged from being pregnant, taking care of sick kids, yaya's day off, ob-gyn's, hospitals to give birth in, pediatricians, good pre-schools, good schools, entrance tests and more. It was just then that I realized - I was in a group that has matured about 3 levels above me. They were talking sense t

The Twilight Zone

"You're travelling through another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind; a journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of imagination. That's the signpost up ahead - your next stop, the Twilight Zone!" I have been a fan of this series since I was little! I could still remember bits and pieces of the show! There was this certain epsiode where a mannequin was invilved and eventually the lead of that episode became a mannequin in the end as well. During my lastest visit to Metrowalk - I was able to find the Season 1 of the 2002's revival of the series. I was eagerly making pigil to get it, but what won was the fact that I loved the show and it was not super expensive. When I got home, I immediately watched a couple of episodes. And just last night - I was done watching all 43 episodes.. and what can I say - Rod Serling - I am kowtowing now - you are indeed beyond brilliant! How I wish I can still find the 50's black &

The Wicker Man - such a waste of time..

Saw this last night - gosh, what the hell was it all about? I didn't get it at all. I had to have the SIL of my Panget explain it to me so I would understand the movie. I was wondering though - since it was a Nic Cage movie with appearances of Aaron Eckhart, James Franco, Lee Lee Sobeiski and Ellen Burstyn - I thought the movie was doing to be good. Unfortunately - it wasn't. It was a really bad movie - I guess because I really didn't get what the movie was all about! But to save the night from disaster - we headed to Mien San for dinner. It's located along Gilmore Avenue/Ortigas Avenue just right after Santolan Road. They serve authentic (daw) Taiwanese cuisine. Their noodle soups, dry noodle, and dumplings are really good! It's also easy on the budgegt. A full meal for 3 people will cost you roughly P480.00. As my mom would say in fookien 'Wu siok, wu kiok!' (cheap yet a good deal)

My Panget's SE P990i

SE P990i I wasn't allowed to post the pictures and an entry last Monday because my Panget has still not given a press release to his friends that he already owns the new (and highly coveted) Sony Ericsson P990i. Yes, it was bought on impulse, and yes - I did not convince him otherwise. My Panget has been waiting for this phone more than a year now. He has been raving all about it since gawd knows when! And when finally - it arrived, he was all smiles and getting impulsive as the days passed. He always challenged on getting it right away, and foturnately - he was able to control himself. But last Sunday - it was different - we visited the Globe shop in Podium and when we asked if they had the phone on stock - well, yes they did - all hell broke loose and the rest? Well, the rest was history. I insisted to take this picture.. Have fun Panget! Enjoy your new phone! :) Tata!

Definitely seeing RED!

This is my first attempt in capturing food images. forgive the amateur-ness as they were taken by my SE K750i Chile an Seabass Black Cod Mango Cheesecake I was invited by my friend to have lunch in RED at the Makati Shangri-La. It was quite weird since I am familiar with the hotel, I never got the chance to sample the dishes in the said restaurant. To be honest, I've never heard of anyone rave on this restaurant, but since it looked promising - I kept an open mind. The bread smelled heavenly - it had bacon bits and some nuts! The butter and tomato spread were great because they went away with the oridnary butter. We were then served with the appetizers, and guess what we had! Foie Gras Creme Brulee - it was fan-tastic! Absolutely, delicious. I couldn't even find the words to describe it - it was THAT good! Wow! (I seldom say that wow, wow!) The plating was eye catching and at the same time practical. They were served in long narrow plates which you can put in the c
